vas14 Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 So I've always had these occasional minor jitters/shakes on my X52 throttle, rotaries, and most importantly slider which I use for zoom. It's particularly annoying for zoom because your zoom level shakes slightly, but even for rotaries which I use for radiators I'd quite often see the same issue manifesting itself in hud messages. I've googled this issue for a bit and it seems quite prevalent for these saitek HOTAS, including X52 pro and X55, caused by their poor sensor design/build quality. Now to the solution that has worked for me. I combine vJoy (http://vjoystick.sourceforge.net/site/index.php/download-a-install/download) and joystick curves (https://xedocproject.com/joystickcurves.html) to map these 4 axis on the X52 HOTAS to the vjoy device, setting the noise filter to 1 (for rotaries 2 seems to work better for me, but YMMV). Flying is much more pleasant now. My guess is that the same effect can be achieved with the global noise joystick filter in BoS, but I didn't want to go that approach since I only had this issue with the HOTAS. Cheers. 1
SCG_Limboski Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Super thanks! I'll have to implement this for my X52 Pro Throttle which works great except for the jitters on the rotaries and slider. 1
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 The Default X55 software works to solve its noisey issues. just by disabling the offending damaged buttons/scrolls on often is the case with X55 the mouse nipple gets damaged and causing issues.
Alonzo Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Does anyone know if the "global joystick noise filter" in IL2 itself would work for this? I have some really nice Virpil gear with zero noise/jitter, but also a Saitek throttle quadrant, which is great for some more axes but has jitter. I don't really want to mess with remapping, but I also don't want to dumb down the great Virpil gear I have. Would the in-game filter do anything?
SCG_Limboski Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 I was thinking about this early today and while I don't know for sure, I would venture a very strong guess that its a global setting that would affect every single device.
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 @Alonzo I use the ingame noise filter 0.33 (on my X55 as its a little worn out) and on my old pedals i used for rudders from a steering wheel i used 0.88 as they were bad, But higher numbers seem to bring in input lag (like buffering) 1
SCG_Limboski Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 @Scchatten, So you are able to set different noise filters for different devices AT THE SAME TIME in IL-2? If so, how?
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 (edited) No you can't AFAIK.. sorry that was bad grammer it should say. I now use 0.33 ingame Noise filter and I Used to Use 0.88 when the old pedals were part of my setup. Edited August 17, 2019 by =TBAS=Sschatten14 1
