Georgio Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Nice video and gives a pretty good idea of what night operations would have looked like IRL. I like the way that the 37mm isn't continuous, it certainly doesn't feel that way when I've flown. I can see some fantastic co-ops in the future with people co-ordinating over TS. Talking of which are there any plans for in-game comms at all? +1 Yeah, I like that flak is a real danger. I remember reading that on July 3, 1941,[/size] Pokryshkin's Mig-3 was shot down by ground fire. He was a thoughtful tactician, but Axis ground fire was no laughing matter. The 1CGS team recommended changing direction a lot and I think this is sound advice. I just posted a video of my evading the ground fire, using an IL2 on the night mission. In the video, I dIve in to hit some trucks, starting at an altitude of about 1.5 km to 2 km. I change directions a couple of times before hitting the trucks, but I probably should have changed direction a few more times. I came seriously close to being hit a few times in the video: MJ
kendo Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Might be useful to remember something from Dev Update 52: 'This is the very first implementation of AAA, it's far from final so please don't rush to criticize, but constructive suggestions are very welcome.' First week flak was ineffective, almost ambient, second week it's deadly. I expect they will tweak and adjust further in the coming weeks.
Obelix Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) I don't know if it could be adjustable (rooky, medium, ace), or if we could have some 3 differents type of missions, rooky, medium and "de luxe version, full technicolor!", just to try to make some straffing against AFV, guns and so on... Nevertheless, it was a great week end, thanks to the team! Edited February 19, 2014 by GCN_Obelix
