Update 4.703 changed the times of dawn and dusk, which required adjustments to some of the missions.

i need better glasses for this at least ... PS if you adapt the date to April 20th 1943 you'll have a full moon.

And BTW remove the Sunsize mod if you have it; the moon will shine twice as bright it seems ...

The 5.001 update has partially messed up the skin assignment in the campaign so an update was necessary:

In the latest version I have removed the B-25 skin I did myself. The new official night bomber skin is much better.

After the 5.003 update the C47s in the campaign were no longer showing the VVS skin, so another update was necessary:

The dawn mission to protect the damaged uboot was gorgeous. I loved how I had to play with the environment, trying to turn so that the bombers were against the pink dawn so I didn't lose them against the dark clouds on the west.

I converted mission #1 to co-op and ran it with some JG3 people last night. I think it was a hit!

- The Li-2 was added, it was the most numerous night bomber in the Kuban region.

 

- In mission 1, 5 and 9 the encountered enemy bomber types were randomized. You either see the B-25 or Li-2.

 

- Most missions got minor reworks and improvements.

 

- In mission 7 you might notice something you probably haven't seen before in the game.?

Cool and thx i havnt tried this one out yet, so il put it on my what to play next list ?

 

Edit: have now tried first 3 missions. They are really fun. Gona be one of my favourits for sure!

I don't see any skins folder in the zip file, although the txt says there is one. Is that correct?

I forgot to update the readme file. The skin folder was removed, when an official B-25 night bomber skin was added.

Finished all missions. It's a dedicatedly designed campaign that utilise multiple functions in editor to make complete night flight possible. I think searchlight operators contributed more than me. Without searchlight, I can't spot any enemy aircraft.

 

I would vote navigation using waxing crescent moon over the horizon at the start of mission 9 as the most interesting moment in the campaign.

Hello, here's my feedback !

I have just finished the campaign and sincerely, thank you.
As a fan of the nachtjagd, it was a superb experience, the details were top notch.

 

I played gamma 0.8, in complete darkness to find targets more easily. It wasn't easy, but I got a good score with it.
46 aircraft shot down as follows:

Modifications : MG 151/20 gunpod (except for the mission 7 where I kept the bombs)

- IL-2 x9
- A-20 x9
- U2-VS x13
- LI-2 x13
- B25 x2

 

I managed to complete each mission in one go, but I broke out in a cold sweat during the following missions:

 

Mission 7: Damaged by flak, then pursued and severely damaged by a yak-7, left engine and flap destroyed and right rear tail destroyed, I had to return to base on a single engine for several dozen minutes. I managed to land as best I could, but ended up with my nose scratching on the ground.

 

Mission 8: Damaged by flak on the right wing, then chased again by a yak-7 after a bit of fern nachtjagd on the enemy airfield, I took some serious damage between the airframe and the left engine, but managed to come home gently and land without too much difficulty.

 

Mission 9: Slightly damaged by a LI-2 gunner in the right engine, loss of cooling water, the engine finally stopped during the landing phase, but once again I landed gently.

 

A little emotion as I touch down on the tenth and final mission. loved the atmosphere and the quality of the missions.

 

If one day you feel like doing some missions on the Wilde Sau with Bf-109 and Fw-190... I'm sure it would be great. Cheers,"Waldy"

When you own Battle of Kuban you should be able to play the campaign. No collector plane is  required.

Thanks @Juri_JS! This was one of the first campaigns to introduce me to night figthers in the East front.

I can't wait to replay it now with a new screen.
