adler_1 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Three months into my BOS game and i am realizing that the above mentioned map would be a great addition to the sim if not say essential from the historic and game play point of view . Since this is a closed architecture game are the developers considering adding this map ? i have looked around but see no mention off it .
AndyJWest Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 I suspect that the size of the city might be an issue. From a quick check of online data, in 1939 Leningrad had a population of around 3.4 million. For comparison Moscow was around 4.1 million, while Stalingrad was only half a million. And unlike the Moscow map, restricting flight over the city itself wouldn't be an option. Even if the game engine was capable of handling the level of detail required, the work required to do justice to it might be prohibitive.
adler_1 Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 The Moscow map doesnt allow us to fly over the city for various reasons so it could follow the same concept and include all the important bases stretching further south to include Krasnowardeisk , Siwerskaja , Reblinsky amongst others . We have so much resources that we could use there . I believe the only maps in the works are Bodenplatte .
Jade_Monkey Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 There is a group of Finnish enthusiasts that are planning on building a map for that area. Cant remember if leningrad would be included but certainly something to check out. Search for it in the forums.
