il2crashesnfails Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I try doing them all the time but it ends up like this can anyone point out what im doing wrong thanks 1
PB0_Roll Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 What you're dong wrong for a landing:too high speed, too steep dive. But then again I understand you do this because you want no delay from your starting high position until landing, in order not to be shot down while approaching at the right speed and correct flight path. Easy fix: imagine a runway that would be nearer from you when you land. Let's say it would be roughly at 2 runways lenght closer to you. Do the same manoeuvers you do, but in relation to this imaginary runwayinsted of the real one. When you flare over this imaginary runway, hold your trusty heinkel a few meters above the ground with engines idle and let the speed drop. You should then touch down at approximately 120/140km/h on the real runway, with a fast slow down at very low altitude which gives any lurking vulcher little time to shoot you down, and you can always crash from low alt with high chances of survival. 1

69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Not a 111 expert by any means, but when you touch down and there's not enough speed to lift off again, retract the flaps. It should let you pullback on the stick so your tail wheel comes down faster. Keep back pressure on the stick and you should be able to use the wheel brakes more aggressively to slow down without nose planting. 1

Yeah the brakes didn't feel that effective. probably because of what you mentioned. I should have applied backward pressure and retracted the flaps!
PB0_Roll Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 This won't work on a tail dragger, if it's modelled accurately.
SCG_Tzigy Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Try this variant: Classic combat landing/overhead break as I do it in 110: 1. Come in at full speed at 300 m down the the runway 2. About half the way down the runway I execute a hard left break, probably 4-6 Gs..(my personal seat of my pants instrument..), while simultaneously cutting throttle and dropping gear 3. Flaps down downwind, while executing continuous left hand turn, straightening shortly before touch down... Super fun. Reckon, will need few tweaks for doing it with the 111...

Haza Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Mate, Considering your handle and your "youtube" channel, I'm not really sure if your questions are actually genuine or are you just taking the *iss out of the game? Regards

Secondly, my observation was based on the fact that you appear to be more content on advertising your "youtube" channel with your videos of you either deliberately ramming other aircraft or doing other stuff that perhaps genuine players that wanted to actually learn wouldn't do. Therefore, me asking if your questions are really genuine is a genuine question, based on the fact that currently you have produced 10 versions of you doing crashes etc, with no real apparent interest in actually learning the sim. However, I guess it takes all sorts! Regards

The questions are from when I play the game . youtube is just for fun a hobby there is no advertising or money I just do it for fun. happy new years
PB0_Roll Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 To slow down you can also try to cross controls, apply full rudder to one side and ailerons to the other.
69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 @Haza Some people want to learn what the GAME can do, not just the "proper" way to play the game. Some people learn the "proper" way to play the game by testing the game's limits. Some people have fun just looking at how many decal variations there are for each damaged part. Some people want to see what it takes to make games behave unexpectedly. As long as it's not being used against other players, who cares? It doesn't mean that C'n'F here doesn't want to fly seriously and is only taking the piss out of IL-2. It doesn't mean he can't have fun and take the piss out of IL-2 if he wants to. Either way, who cares? Besides with the large amount of IL-2 players that only post their "Git Guud" footage, C'n'F here, is only providing some 'karmic' balance to IL-2GB vids on YouTube and a bit of comedy relief as well. Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the sudden stop (err.... I meant to say "ride"). 1

Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the sudden stop (err.... I meant to say "ride"). @=AVG77=Mobile_BBQ, Thank you for your post. I have no issue with players having fun or testing to see if the 109 can go mach 1 as my young lad does all of these things in SP and of course it is a good way to learn and have fun, as he enjoys colliding into things, so perhaps without knowing (C'n'F)s' age, I perhaps might have been a little quick to judge and for that I apologise! That said, having previously tried to help and answer the question that was raised by C'n'F regarding landing a Pe-2, I recently noticed that his videos appear to be all of the same thing, although indeed as you have alluded to, it is no different from all of the other PC aces that post their "Git Guud" vids on youtube. Therefore, rather than me wasting my time with my limited knowledge trying to help somebody that I perceive has no apparent interest in actually "learning" the game and just wants to have fun as you put it, then I will go and do something more productive (although getting easier) and go wash what limited hair I have left, however, I just thought that I would ask the question. In addition, it took me a long time to transition from CLOD to BOS because of similar YouTube content that I viewed at the time, that was very dismissive of BOS, although perhaps I shouldn't have been so easily convinced in waiting so long to transition. Owing to the current state of the game, I guess if there are people watching both C'n'F and 'Git Guud' type action Youtube posts and it makes them want to play, than that can only be a win win for the franchise. However, if he wants to use this forum to take the *iss out of the game, as you put it, I for one really can't be bothered adding to that although perhaps getting sucked in with this post perhaps is already adding to that, so I will say no more on this matter and will go and watch Requiem's vids to try and become a better PC player, myself.
