Inspiring quote by Robin Olds ?

@51st_FC: I am a cancer survivor like you, fighting this vicious enemy for forty years as a MD...and till now eighteen months as a patient ?

Let’s never surrender alive !

RIP Monguse

Man it is beyond words how he will be missed. I flew with him and against him in IL2 Forgotten Skies and knew him fairly well. RIP my ol friend. So sad that we all must leave this place. Thanks for sharing this. Salute!

I knew Monguse in voice only. Back in the original IL-2 1946 days Slot Map, Team USA, Friday night combat. He also skinned the Avenger for VT-12 for our squadron. A wonderful chap! I will never forget his voice on coms.... and will miss it greatly in the future! :(

Rest well my friend... S~!!!!

So sad to read this. I've recently come back to flying sims after a near 10 year hiatus. I had the pleasure of exchanging emails, private messages and the occasional Team Speak voice chat with Monguse during the development of the Slot and New Guinea maps. I also got to fly formation with him on the Slot maps...I recall he insisted that we fly over Vella Lavella in B-25's at dusk, you know when the sky turned pink in 1946...He said he loved the atmosphere. He helped me with some P-51 skins way back then too. Stand up guy all around. Wish I could have met him in person.

S! from 438_Skunk/Skunkmeister. Goodbye old friend.

Very Sad news

RIP Monguse,

I still feel honoured having flown and talked with him in SOV Teamspeak. I was impressed by the knowledge and the passion he had on wwII air combat.
