MichaelN Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Hello, i have a little problem, atleast i think it is... A friend of me wants to give me his old Fliegerasse DVDs("Wick vs Dundas" and "Galland"),but, according to this thread in another forum( https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25488 ), i need to update a hotfix for "Wick vs Dundas" and "Channel Battles",atleast that´s what i understand. The problem is,i only get an error 404 message when i try to open desastersoft.com. Making it impossible for me to install the Hotfix,or get my hands on Channel battles. I hope someone here can help me,for example with an alternative source for the things above,or simply by telling me that i don´t need them at all to get both "Wick vs Dundas" and "Galland " running. I also intend to get CLOD Blitz from Steam, since my old DVD is lost Yours sincerely Michael
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted December 6, 2018 Team Fusion Posted December 6, 2018 Unless you actually own these Desastersoft products I am not sure we can help you. We cannot encourage the use of the software without ownership. There is a thread on this forum which details converting those programs to CoD-Blitz:
MichaelN Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 Thanks a lot. Decided to get Blitz yesterday, instead of at the end of the month I will try the Campaign Conversion once the Fliegerasse DVDs arrrived. It should make no problems with steam and the add-ons being registered on another account;he never used them...still sealed and all...He started playing Warthunder and the good old IL2 1946 shortly before he got the DVDs for his birthday..from me -.- I will make sure to inform you how everything went
Eisenfaustus Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Did it work properly? Started to look for Desastersoft campaigns on ebay ect...

Nevsky76 Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Hello all, has someone the desastersoft-fix.rar (back then had to be downloaded as update)? I have Channel Battles DVD (ownership!), applied the DS fix and now am stuck as downloader cannot contact the Desastersoft website as it is offline). Can someone provide this rar-file? Thanks in advance.
Brizzly Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, unless someone had the wherewithal to save those campaign files separately (unlikely, since it updated the install directly), we're probably out of luck. I guess the good thing is, since Desastersoft doesn't support this anymore, we have no idea what those updates fixed. So, if you don't find a bug when you play, then it just works.
LLv34_Flanker Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 S! I also have all of the Desastersoft campaigns, one with Walther Schuck's signature etc. Would be nice to install and play them.

I have a file with this name, once downloaded Desastersoft campaign Demo. No idea what do or how install, seems a dababase file. Desastersoft_fix.zip
Brizzly Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 That file seems to fix it, at least Fighter Aces Galland, and Channel Battles, which is all I have. I ran both installers, which actually created a vanilla IL2 CLOD folder in my Steamapps\Common directory. I then copied the files over to the Blitz build, and applied the fix. I was having issues with it crashing, so I did a repair, and re-applied the fix, and now all is working.
