Sorry if this has been answered in the manuals or anything but is it possible to make custom objectives?

 

For instance, an objective to patrol certain areas at certain altitudes. Or target of opportunity areas where you just go and destroy what you find, whether it be houses, trucks, trains, etc. whatever is in the area.

 

Also, is it possible to script an object to have a custom explosion when damaged/destroyed? I want to simulate a target of opportunity that is an ammo cache hidden in a house. Any way to script the house to have a custom explosion (like a 1000lbs bomb for instance) when destroyed? I want to try and reenact some guncam footage that I've seen.

        For multiplayer (and I believe single player), see "Specify Conditions for Multiplayer Mission Success" on pg. 130 of the mission editor manual.
        I think that the mission objective translator now ends the mission right away (I haven't tested this lately though) whereas before it only set the
        mission success title in the post-mission stats screen and you would have to trigger the end mission translator to end the mission.

Seems to me I remember a few years ago someone had activated a He111 inside a house to good effect. Just have to be creative.

You've watched the Jug movie, haven't you? :)

 

There's a fake_vehicle that might do the trick for you.

I would be interested about that effect group. When I try to spawn He-111 between walls, it just slips away and dies peacefully. Or if I spawn it in the air in hope to make it crash, it just crashes, but does not blow up with his 2500kg bomb.

I just mentioned that in the beta forum.

I used that for good effect too, but now they just spawn, fall down and sit there.

I believe there are good reasons why objects are "slippery" now, but the ability to detonate the object along its payload, for example with Command:Damage, would sound optimal solution to me.

Is there no way to just script the explosion itself into the building? I know In arma I was able to script an IED by making a random object have the explosion of a separate object that was in the game, like an artillery shell or mine, or something along those lines.

 

So what I would do was script a pile of trash or something to explode with the explosion effects of a 155 mm shell or something when certain parameters are met.

 

Is this not possible with Il2?

Based on my personal experience with the editor, i don't think so.

I've asked Han for some larger explosion effects, since the spawning He-111's with bombs (even if you spawn them intersecting with a structure) tricks no longer works.
