adler_1 Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 (edited) for the first time i placed a destroyer to accompany a convoy , it has its own separate MCU;s. I noticed it never went straight , always zig zaging in between ships and getting very close to the shore and then back out again until on my second test it went into the hill at Stalingrad . How do i fix this and how can i make it go straight and not act as if its on full alert looking for subs . Edited November 14, 2018 by dog1

Learn to test and troubleshoot your own missions by making variations in your logic/wayoint placement etc. Learn to post a mission if you ask a question like this. Posting a vague "why doesn't my mission work" post without anything to look at is BEYOND annoying from you at this point.
JimTM Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Also, be sure to search the existing documentation carefully. In this case, the answer may be on the bottom of pg. 73 in the editor manual.
adler_1 Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 JIMTM Destroyer i am using one WP only as destination in a straight line upriver , no corners , short distance . I will try again with multiple WP see what happens . Convoy In the case of convoy same set up 4 ships in line i see they start slowly then pic up speed but the last 2 ships usually tend to swerve slightly left or right and then correct when too close to shore , is this normal ? the 4 ships are attached together and using only 1 WP as destination .

Vary the distance from shore and number of waypoints and see what you get. Otherwise, it may just be weird AI behaviour.
adler_1 Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 JIM TM made adjustments to destroyer only , pls take a look , it wont go past WP 1 . tks copy to JIM TM.rar

adler_1 Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 Jim TM its ok now but the destroyer still keeps the habit off zigzaging up to shore line then onto the next side , wont go in a straight line even with all those WP's . TKs support
adler_1 Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) JIM TM the destroyer is still going to ground !! what to do ? same mission . the transport ships dont behave this way . Edited November 19, 2018 by dog1
JimTM Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Try a simple mission with just destroyer and a few waypoints. Try that setup on a river and on open water. See what happens.
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 IIRC Destroyers logic has been improved to not collide with other ships in one of the latest updates. They will now attempt maneuvers to "cover" nearby shipping when in very close proximity as opposed to collision. Just from the picture that destroyer is mighty close to the tanker on the Volga. Not a whole lotta room there.
adler_1 Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 i dont have the sea , i only have BOS so far , The destroyer always acts as if its on high alert . sub hunting or something , always zigzaging . it never goes in a straight line . I will try a solo up the river tomorrow and report , but then what ? if it cant behave in proximity to friendly vessels then what is its use ? the gunboats dont react that way at all .
adler_1 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 JIM TM I removed the destroyer and replaced with a gunboat in the same mission . Now i have 2 cargo vessels going backwards or in the opposite direction . Pls give me your views . to jtm.rar

Seems like AI weirdness. Try adding more waypoints to the cargo ships route. Other than that, there's nothing more I can suggest.
adler_1 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 yes its really strange , i will add more WP's and get it steady on course , it was'nt doing that earlier on when i first set it up . I cannot test the destroyer till i purchase the Kuban add on which has the black sea i believe .
adler_1 Posted November 22, 2018 Author Posted November 22, 2018 JIM TM by assigning each ship its own set of MCU's it becomes a different ball game .They follow their route as they should , there is no drop in speed or starting late and pointing in wrong directons , they avoid a sinking ship ahead and then go back on course . Using one ship as the leader and targetting the rest of the convoy to follow does'nt work well at all . Destroyer is for the open sea most probably .
Gambit21 Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Works fine on Kuban map. That said each vessel with its own waypoints is always better.
