Hello all,

I have been using my sons VR HTC headset for a while.

It used to work very well. I changed out my old.. MSI 980 ti

for a new MSI 1080 ti.

So I jump into IL2 via Steam VR all is well then about the 14

minute mark it stops working..

I get a frozen screen.

Thanks!

I actually get crashes in this game a fair bit, but with every release they fix old bugs, etc.  Not the developer's fault as we change hardware and update drivers etc.  But depending on different settings through trial and error, I get crashes playing in VR.  I'd say make tweaks with caution, but one thing I found caused more crashes for me was letting steamvr decide my resolution.  In my case it set it to 200.  Even at 150, my game will crash so I have to manually set it at 100.

I also get a darkened canopy if I use 4k skins and vr, but that doesn't appear to be causing my crashes.  Lol, hopefully someone can help you better than I can.  So far I can only nod empathetically.

Check the version of Nvidia drivers you are using.

I experience a graphics freeze on any drivers newer than 391.35.

Try it and report back if this helps you.

I haven't tried the latest driver,  but the 3 prior still triggers the screen freeze.

Sorry I said older instead of newer.

It's the new drivers that break it for me.

I'll edit my post to save further confusion.

I also had frozens (but the game and sound continued) when upgraded to the 1080Ti, but the guilty was the PSU. So check that your amps are enough for the 1080Ti.

I am with 850w unit/ 1080Ti/ HTC VIVE PRO, drivers are older than  391.35.

I still get screen freeze many times each day. (but the sound continues, I can hear my plane crash)

Since so many people suffering this bug, I hope the developers can notice this and fix it ASAP.

@HullDown - How did it go?

Sorry for the late reply. I think it was a software problem. I just downloaded the current drivers and the new patch.

Works like a champ!
