BDS_Gaming Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) Hello, I just finished a mission on BoM and after I landed, clicked finish mission the game froze in the menu trying to go to the next day. I had no choice but to close the game and restart it. Now I go back into the game and of course it wont load, the game freezes my computer trying to load where it left off in the menu. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix, I really don't want to have to restart this career from the beginning, AGAIN. Edit: Tried to reinstall the game because I read that worked for others, now I don't have a career anymore. Gotta make a new one and start all over. Cool. Edited September 6, 2018 by Brian_Smith
BDS_Gaming Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 Reinstalled and restarted my career on BoM and the game froze after ending the same mission as last time. This is incredibly frustrating and unacceptable as I will have to force quit the program, and restart a career AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want my money back, so pissed off right now.
RedHawk13 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) Well, I don't have a fix but I will come back if I find one. Glad I at least found someone that has the same problem as me. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Edit: It's a solution to another problem but it worked for me. I changed the date to a few days before just to be sure. Had to do a few missions again, but I'd rather do that than having to restart the campaign again. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/35771-how-to-save-a-broken-career-automission-start-failed-mission-save-error-statsubmitstatfailed/ Edited September 11, 2018 by RedHawk13 1 1
Raptorattacker Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Same here, same problem. It's happened a couple of times and BOTH times in BoK. Once in a Spit after about 10 or so missions and just now in a FW190 A5 after around the same amount... The whole thing freezes and the only thing to do is to invoke the Task Manager and bum out of the whole thing. I then go back into the same Career and it freezes again, leaving NO alternative but to delete that particular Career!! A TAD frustrating, to be sure!! Any ideas?? The only thing I can think of is it's a bug relative to having more than one Career going as I have one for the Soviets (Ican't remember which Theatre, but NOT BoK, and that one is still going without any freezes (so far!!).

You say using that method of going back in time worked for you? As in it didn't then freeze again at the same mission it did the first time? I haven't tried that but I am going to leave my career untouched until they respond. I'll try it after they respond see if they have a solution as well, I just started a new one starting after that date and downloaded DCS World so that has taken up all my time lol 5 hours ago, Raptorattacker said: Same here, same problem. I only had one career going when this happened to me. Twice, after the same mission on BoM, I believe it was mission 13 on rapid setting, the date is in the screen shot. Interesting it happened to you in BoK, semi comforting to hear I'm not alone, did you both contact support?

My pilot got wounded and it fast-forwarded a week and a half to the day it freezes and I've only gone back to one day before I got wounded so I haven't reached the date yet. Just in case, I did create a backup copy of the career cp file. So far I haven't had any bugs other than having 2 commanders the first day (which got fixed the next day) and there are always the same 2 missions on the "Finished missions" tab. Nothing major. If you get a response with the support ticket please let us know what they say.

Apart from the couple missions that always appear in the "finished missions" tab, now the game thinks I'm wounded despite not having been wounded and I'm still being given missions. Notifications appearing saying the squadron has been reinforced with planes when it hasn't been. Notifications saying the squadron has been reinforced with pilots that were already in the squadron and even died... I think I'm going to leave it for now until 1C replies to your tickets. Good thing I made a copy of the career file. 1

BDS_Gaming Posted September 19, 2018 Author Posted September 19, 2018 (edited) 1CGS Support Team Sep 18 (1 day ago) to me Hi, Unfortunately, we have not been able to run your career, because in your file Career. zip (folder \data\Career) We have not found the file cp.db. The cp.db file is the primary career file and running a saved career without this file is not possible because most of the career information is stored in the cp.db file That was their response to me, so apparently there is no fix on their end. Edit: Or I have not sent the correct folder, I'm a bit confused. I sent them another .zip of my Career folder that does contain a cp.dp file that they are talking about, for some reason in the first one i sent it was missing. We will see what the response is now. Laddie Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 (edited) Can I join your list of flyers with a problem regarding the career bug. Mine is about 40% done but I've just run into an issue, were the last mission I flew is now stuck in the planning room and I can't get past it. I can't redo the mission because it CTD and if I opt for someone else to fly it, it crashes to the main screen. No way through it and I'm absolutely gutted, I've been recording this career for you tube and it looks I'm going to have to literally bail out after 60 episodes Not good....not good at all I'm afraid ! Many thanks for highlighting it ?
