Ptk Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) All sounds (except radio messages) adjusted down 6db. Only useful if you want to hear the ingame messages better. Use high sound settings. No longer valid. Modified engine cockpit sounds. Use high sound settings. No longer valid ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GUI_Background_Mute removes the ambient sounds at game start if you're tired of listening to them like me. Anything weird with this, let me know. No longer valid P40 a20 gun test swaps the p40 50 cal sounds for the a20 50 cal sound. It's a simple edit, compare it with the original if you want to mess around with some other sounds. No longer valid Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk old versions 2 4
jokerBR Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Interesting. Will try as soon as my gfx card comes back from maintenance. I too have some hard time trying to understand game comms sometimes.
SCG_motoadve Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Can you make one that just lowers the wind noise, so the engine sound is louder?

Sure. No longer valid Untested, everyone has different audio hardware. Enable with jsgme and you'll have to set your in game sound to low. I don't have a great internet connection so I used low to keep the file size smaller. If this works for you I can make a medium one. Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk 1

Seems to work really well with the english voice pack mod. Voices are much clearer, and lowering the volume let some of the other sounds come through better. I haven't tested with every plane, so anything weird, let me know. Enable with jsgme and you have to use medium sound quality in game for this to work. I too have a big hearing loss (age) and only use headphones and have a sound card installed a Asus Xonar I highly recommend they are not to expencive. 1 1
Ptk Posted August 30, 2018 Author Posted August 30, 2018 Not a big fan of headphones, ear sweat and I have a huge melon ?. I have a xonar, and the onboard realtek. I'm using a couple krk studio monitors for my sound, really like them.
czech693 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I really like this mod. Not only can I hear the radio chatter, but I can hear cockpit sounds like the flaps activating! 1
Ptk Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Messing around more with the sounds. Thought the interior cockpit sound was too muffled (its probably correct using default, but I like it sounding a little more rough). And default for comparison. I've just done the P40 so far. 1
Tom25briklebritt Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 like it! ? Please do the BF109 and the FW190
Jade_Monkey Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 (edited) Very nice! I always thought the P40 just sounds too peaceful and this mode gives it a bit of a kick. Edit: @Ptk, any chance this can be done with the high sound settings? Edited September 8, 2018 by Jade_Monkey
Ptk Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 (edited) No longer valid Did a few more engines. There is probably going to be bugs/weirdness. Have to use high sound settings. Enable/disable with jsgme. Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk
Tom25briklebritt Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Thanks, i will test it - sounds much better in videos above.. plz keep up your great work
Ptk Posted September 10, 2018 Author Posted September 10, 2018 (edited) Found a better way to do essentially what the engine_sounds_CP_Beta does. Cockpit_sounds_lua uses the external engine sounds in cockpit. Sound setting (hi, med, lo) doesn't matter. Had a mistake in the p40 file. Re-download if you grabbed it already No longer valid Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk mistake in the p40 file. 1
Tom25briklebritt Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Is Cockpit_sounds_lua.rar an additional file to Sound_Adj_Mod or do i have to use it instead?
Ptk Posted September 16, 2018 Author Posted September 16, 2018 Use it with that, the -6db, or none. I should mention that there are limits to what can be done without the master project file(.fdp, .fspro …), which I don't have. Without it it's still possible to sub in sounds, but there's a lot of trial and error to that.
OrLoK Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 you've got quite a few versions here. any chance of an edit to the OP so we can we which is which? for e.g. I'm after the one where you can hear the radio clearly. I'm unsure as to which one or what level my sound needs to be sent. Tia L
Ptk Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 File size change on all the fsb's with the patch today, I wouldn't use any until I can update them. 1
DB605 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Those previews sounds very good! Please keep up, Ju88 would need more balls too if possible...
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Does it now sound like we are no longer wearing a helmet That the reason they are muffled in the cockpit in first place (flight helmet) Will give this a try tho great work
Ptk Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) This file allows the external engine and gun sounds to be heard in cockpit. Essentially the external sounds will be mixed in with the internal. Not much testing, let me know if there is any weirdness. No longer valid Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk

Ptk Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 There were changes to the sound in the latest patch, it wasn't updated. I'm working on something better.
vonGraf Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 The beta sounds already quite good. Had the impression there's less noisy wind around the 109's canopy.
Ptk Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) No longer valid Modified engine cockpit sounds for most of the fighters. Use high sound settings. Edited October 6, 2019 by Ptk 1 2

[KG]Destaex Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 This sounds great and may actually allow me to play with tinitus
Reaperr Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 it looks very nice does this required mods on? and anyone have working link for me all these links are empty
Ptk Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 These haven't been updated for 3011, you'll be missing sounds for the newer planes and other assorted weirdness if you were to use them. They've made similar adjustments with each patch anyways. Not quite there yet, but getting there. 1
Reaperr Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 i see from the videos it does sound very good, i really looking forward when it's done
Blitzen Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Is there a way of getting the twin machine guns in aircraft featured in Flying Circus to be a bit louder??
