I don't often fly campaigns. I just did the first mission today. RTX 3080Ti screamed in pain on Ultra settings. Beautifully done mission nevertheless. Need to see if I can find an undervolt that will let me run this mission in Ultra at less than 80c ?

Thanks!

I don't know what's wrong, but that's all I get after installing the campaign. It's in the correct folder and all the files are there. :(

Usually, this is a sign the missions have to be resaved in the new version of the game.

I do not remember the procedure atm, but it has to be somewhere like in ..\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\resaver

I found that Missionresaver app, but I clicked on it and nothing happened ?¿ Just a blink of the cmd prompt screen and nothing else :(

There is a command line  syntax to designate the files to resave:

MissionResaver.exe -d C:\IL2\data -f C:\IL2\data\Multiplayer\Dogfight\Mission.mission
rem echo off
rem first path should point to the main data folder
rem second path shold point at the mission file to be re-saved
rem mission file itself, text localization files, binary mission file and .list file will be re-saved

So it's a bit  involved....

To   resave  full  campaign, you can  put  the following  in  a  .bat  batch,  changing the path of  course!

cd "H:\MesProgrammesSSD\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Campaigns\Battlefield"
FOR  %%i IN (*.mission) DO (
    ECHO %%i
    "H:\MesProgrammesSSD\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\resaver\MissionResaver.exe" -d "H:\MesProgrammesSSD\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data"  -f "H:\MesProgrammesSSD\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Campaigns\Battlefield\%%i"
)
pause

Thank you, Jade_Monkey! This campaign was really fun to play! ? It's high quality ? and for me it was a kind of prequel to the "Achtung Spitfire!" campaign that I'm currently playing.

@FoxbatRU: Afterwards I'll try out your campaign variant "P-40E-1 Kittyhawk". This collector plane has been unused in my inventory for a long time, because (apart from partial use in the "Kursant/Cadet" and "The Kuban Wall/Part1" campaigns) no plane specific campaign exists (according to my searches/knowledge).

I wanted to play the campaign again in a new way, I replaced the player on the plane the P-40E-1 "Kittyhawk". :)

Ulricus,

I was surfing this section of the forum and saw your comment about no P-40E-1 specific campaigns.  If you were to go to Off-Winters desert MOD you will find a set of missions developed for his MOD featuring the P-40E; however, these are not a scripted campaign, but are to be played in sequence and represent the actions of the 99FS of the 332FG, the Tuskegee Airmen.  I'm currently adding to the missions, but as a personal move has taken precedence over my sim activities I'm not certain when I'll finish.  Try them nonetheless and let me know what you think.

Falcon41, thx for your tip about the Off_Winters desert MOD and the 99FS/332FG (Tuskegee Airmen). My present experience with MODs are fairly old (used them in RoF 10 years ago), but you piqued now my interest using them also in BoX. Thx

Ulricus,

You'll find that Off_Winters MOD only changes the terrain/color of the Kuban autumn map to more closely resemble the desert areas of Tunisa which is where the Tuskegee Airmen were first deployed. Enjoy

Just finished this great campaign. Leaving aside the fact that i really love the Spit, the campaign is truly well designed, entertaining and quite challenging on some occasions. The thing i crave for most, immersion, is good, and the fact that the other pilots are mentioned in the radio chatter with their actual names gives that a boost. Also the mission description goes by a very interesting and well done format, describing the actual facts beforehand.

Many thanks, JadeMonkey.

P.S. due to the soo very low ammo for the 20 mm guns of the Spit, I  wonder if it's possible to actually return to the airfield, rearm and return to the combat area.

P.S. 2 a great bravo! for those who designed the ..... damage model, i think it's called, of the planes. On one mission we had to attack some german trucks, running along on a road guarded by dense trees. The clouds were low, the fog was thick, so i went quite low on the first attack run i i've touched a tree top with my left wing. the wing resisted, but it developed a crack, that got a bit larger in time. Tried to keep the load low on the wing, finished the mission and got back at the airport safely. The crack got visible larger.

IMHO, that's a real great realism detail, maybe not so obvious, but it shows the true level of authenticity that this sim has.
