Failure to launch.

After trying all fixes in most of the forums, I still can't get C.L.O.D. Blitz to launch. This makes 3 weeks that I have been working on the issue. I start the game as admin. a small box opens for 10 sec. the everything disappears. IL2 1946 and BOS run and play with no problems.  Someone, please help, of all the titles out, this is the one I wanted to play the most. My Uncle Rudy was a Ju 88 Pilot. He and 3 of his Brothers did not survive the war. My PC is strong I'm sure that's not the problem, as I'm getting 60+ fps on BOS. Thank you in advance.

Hello Thomas

What you posted is not the actual crash logfile... you just posted the programs which were running at some point... shown by your task manager.

We need the actual crashlog... and also your system specs.

Go into your Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/ folder and open the confs.ini file.

Conform it so it looks like this:

[Console]

IP=20000
IPS=
LOG=1
LOGTIME=1
LOGFILE=logs.txt
HISTORY=128
HISTORYCMD=128
WRAP=1
PAUSE=1
PAGE=20
LOGKEEP=1

Then when you have a crash or a failure to launch, go to the logfile, copy the contents of the file and post it here.

Hello Jopignal

Could you please post your system specifications?

-----

Other than that:

Two potential problems:

1)  You may have a corrupt install.

Please verify your install through STEAM.

Then delete your cache file in your 'Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/' folder.

Try running the game again.

2)  It looks like you have a 32 bit program running which is interfering with the launch.

Do you have any overlays running when you launch?  Any graphics programs?

Please shut these down prior to launching the game.

----

Please also read through the pinned topics on this forum section carefully and see if those might help.

Hello Jopignal

I am sorry but your specifications are not enough to run the game properly.

If you look at the STEAM page you will see the game recommends the following:

  • MINIMUM:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core I5 6500 or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Direct X 11.0 compliant 4 gb
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 8 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX 11 compatible

The original IL-2 1946 requires a much less powerful computer.

IL-2 STURMOVIK CLIFFS OF DOVER BLITZ has a much more complex graphics and code and requires more computing power.

For the first time ever I'm having a problem launching missions in CLOD. The game loads fine, until I try and launch any mission (Training, Quick, Single or from a Campaign) when I get CTD at the 95% load point.  I uploaded some additional campaigns and single missions from the Forum and whilst all seemed well last night when I loaded and flew 2 missions, today I'm getting the CTD so that may be connected?  The only change I have made this morning was trying - unsuccessfully - to load a cockpit dash photo.  However I have deleted any photo from the 'Selected' folder so whatever I did should surely not affect the game.  I can try and attach the log (if someone can tell me where I can find the log.txt file as I can't see it anywhere) if my description above doesn't provide enough clues!

Grateful for any help on this particular problem, and also advice on exactly where new missions/campaigns should be loaded as there seem to be multiple options:

Documents/ICSoftclub/CLOD/mission/campaign or quick

Documents/ICSoftclub/CLOD/missions/multi or single

Steamapps/common/CLOD/missions/single

Steamapps/common/CLOD/parts/bob/mission/Quick or Single or Training or Campaign

What goes where?

Hello Friends, After much searching and doing I finally had to reset Windows 10. I lost lots of add-on programs and my shortcuts no longer pointed to the correct execute files, however, I am now able to launch CLOD-BLITZ from my steam account. The game is fantastic and highly recommended by this sim-pilot Thanks Buzzsaw.
