Bear1 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I bought the BOBP from the IL2 store but seem to have downloaded only the Battle of Stalingrad (I saw something about having to get BOS along with BOBP)..Where is the BOBP download/game?
Beazil Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Battle of Stalingrad IS BOBP.... This is my way of explaining it, and is in no way an official answer: There is a MASTER module - in this case it is Battle of Stalingrad. Sort of like DCS World. Each "Battle" is plugged into the main game, and the maps and planes for that module appear in your main game. You may choose different maps, planes, campaigns, multiplayer, etc. This way everyone has the same game, even if our modules are not always the same. Hope that was close to the truth too.
Bear1 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) The control setup for joystick etc is totally different from IL2 1946 but I don't see a manual anywhere to explain. Is it a separate download? Also...it looks like I screwed up big time buying BOBP before it is prime time....any way to use the funds to switch over to BOS? Who would I even ask about this? Guest deleted@83466 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) The manual: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/17572-il2-user-manual/ I think this was written when only Battle of Stalingrad was out, so the sections at the end talking about all the planes, only includes BoS planes. That's ok though, because there are lots of other guides about later airplanes you can find online and lots of youtube videos to tell you everything you need to know about every plane. And there is a page for each airplane in the game itself that will give you basic operating instructions, and tell you the controls that you need to have mapped for each one. Yes, you probably should have bought one of the earlier modules first, but unless you think you are really going to hate the game, or budget is really tight, I would just go ahead and keep it, and get BoS in addition to it. I mean, we're going to have Dora 9's, Me-262's, and Mustangs, and P-38's soon enough, and what's not to like about that?? Edited August 6, 2018 by SeaSerpent
Bear1 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 OK Sea Serpent.. guess you are right. I just feel stupid buying something that is not ready for prime time. Thanx for the manual. Mike
Bear1 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 OOPS....The manual was MIA. Hopefully there will be one in the game itself (when I stop tearing my hair out and break out the wallet to buy BOS!)
Art-J Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) Scroll down the thread you were guided to. The original manual link is dead, but there are multiple unofficial ones in later posts. Edited August 7, 2018 by Art-J
