xvii-Dietrich 372
Indeed! It is useful to have a reminder that there is a manual!! But curiously, mine keeps blinking "Rise of Flight User Manual" every time I turn the page. Odd.
Charlo-VR 212
But curiously, mine keeps blinking "Rise of Flight User Manual" every time I turn the page. Odd. That's probably in the properties of the Word document from which the IL2-BoS manual is saved as a pdf. Both the RoF and IL2-BoS manuals share a similar design.

Aye, when I started on the BoS manual, I used the RoF manual as my starting point.
Wuerger 20
Still no German Manual as Il-2 Classic had one Still no Explanation of the effect of the different sliders in Snap Camera Mode or Pan Camera Mode and so on. Thousands of programming hours and then only little time left to explain all the details. What a waste of time as I found also others did not undestand lots of features and settings of the game. Look at this http://srv0.files.eagle.ru/dcs/manuals/DCS-Fw_190_D-9_Flight_Manual_DE.pdf A flight sim is more than a game imho. People are interested in details, combat etc. To be honest, even the manual of IL-2 Classic had been written with a bit more passion...
LukeFF 6458
To be honest, even the manual of IL-2 Classic had been written with a bit more passion... Wuerger, I wrote this manual in my spare time, because I wanted to help out Jason and the team and give the rest of the community something that I felt would be a helpful guide. To that end, a LOT of time and effort went into making this manual the best that I could make it with the time and energy that I had at hand. Hopefully in the future more detail can be given to those areas in the manual that are lacking at the moment. 1 3
Wuerger 20
LukeFF, this was not meant as personal offence, when selling a product worldwire it should be standard to enclose the country-specific manual of the product. At least in my opinion.

Bando 297
Luke, are there any plans to extend the manual to include BOM and it's planes? Or BOK in the future? I think game wise it'll be more or less the same, only the planes and the theater differ. Don't know if it's doable.

Yes, it is something that is planned, though there is no timetable for it right now. I am in the middle of a move right now and getting married next week, so all of my books (and soon my computer) are packed up at the moment. I'm hoping to be able to resume work on it come late October.

Redglyph 39
Hello! Sorry, I was about to buy BoM... but does this mean there is no manual?
Bando 297
No, there is no BOM manual. That being said, the BOS manual is very usable for BOM as well, except for the planes data, but that data can be seen in game in the breefing screen. So the fact that there is no dedicated manual for BOM should not stop you from buying it, as the existing manual covers most.
Redglyph 39
Ah OK, that's a little surprising but as long as the info is somewhere it should be fine. It was mostly about the plane data and manual. Thanks!
Redglyph 39
About the support... I don't know whether I must take that as humour or insult, but it certainly won't encourage me to buy another title from them, especially since I bought CoD back then, and they never went beyond beta. Sometimes you can give someone a second chance, but sometimes not. 1CGS Support Team <support@1cgs.net> 11:20 (6 hours ago) to me Hi, Please help us to understand the problem by describing the situation step by step. Necessarily, illustrate the description with screenshots 2016-11-19 23:24 GMT+03:00 <site-support+il2+0f179220-0072-41ae-8daf-8c3c64f96d84@1cgs.net>: I recently bought IL-2 Battle of Moscow, which is fairly recent, and Battle of Stalingrad, which has been released for a while. But I have no manual, so there is nothing to explain the menus, the aircraft, the rules... In the forums, there is a link to an old manual (WIP) that has never been upgraded and does not correspond to the current version anymore.Where can I find it? If it doesn't exist, when do you plan to make it available?

Redglyph 39
Sorry, but I'm not entirely convinced. Anyway, nothing blocking, it just looks unfinished without some manual explaining at least the basics, and while I'm certainly not expecting problems to be solved right away, it looks sad to see they're not registered by some sort of support for later fixing. This reply, though, was just too funny not to share - I'm not without some sense of humour after all. It really shows what to expect, doesn't it? :D
3./JG51_Stachl 2
Hello, I have TiR 4 and have a real problem checking my six in a 109 F4. When I turn to look back the head armor is very close and taking up a large amount of viewing space. However, when I watch some of the video tracks posted on Youtube the head protection seems to be much further away and the pilots are able to see better behind. What setting am I missing to replicate this? Is it a TiR setting or is it in game. Thanks for any help on this.
Stig 92
You might need to adjust your pilot head position. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/20832-setting-bos-cockpit-view-head-tracking-users/?hl=%2Bpilot+%2Bhead&do=findComment&comment=329629

216th_Jordan 1291
This manual should be included in the BOS/BOM install directory. Just put a disclaimer on the first page that it is not updated yet and on parts which are obsolete (eg unlocks). This manual is a pain to find, and you only find it if you know there is one. A lot of effort has gone into this one but it does not reach its target audience, that's a shame.
decipher 19
is there any kind of updated manual available for BoM, was not able to find one. i only have BoM (at the moment) and since chuck lost interest in making a "chuck's guide" for the BoM aircraft, i feel a little lost in the meantime i found my old "cockpit arrangement guide" PDF from corsican corsair, which was made for il-2 1946, but turns out to be somewhat helpful for BoM too, especially to get familiar with the russian/italian cockpit (languages i can't read). Pail 114
@decipher DerSherriff has just done a really nice guide video on the mig 3 that you might find useful. It covers all the gauges , etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRyni_xGjpI
decipher 19
thankyou! extremely helpful. i also remembered (from my RoF times) that IRFC requiem made a lot of "familiarization" videos, he has some BoM aircraft featured too. very helfpul indeed.
