For some reason a tester (the only one I've sent this mission to so far) can't hear the custom radio calls.

When I place the exact copy that I've sent him in my own missions folder, the sounds don't play as they should.

For the sake of this conversation, let's assume he's placed the mission/media folder properly in his missions folder (he know's what he's doing)

however I'll have him verify that he placed the folder properly. Assuming he did...what can the problem be?

I sent Folder/Mission/Media (media folder inside missions folder)

He did NOT put the media folder in the Missions folder. Never assume somebody knows what they are doing when inexplicable events occur.

Please post your mission and audio folders for download. I'll check it out. ?

I know what I am doing. ?

I agree with @Thad. Most likely they extracted and that gave them an extra sub folder.

It should be this:

C:\...\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\data\Missions\AUDIOFOLDERHERE\

But most likely extracted their folder and created something like this:

C:\...\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\data\Missions\STUPIDSUBFOLDER\AUDIOFOLDERHERE\

Check out the image of my audiodirectory pic. Simple Missions\audio\then the audio file name.

Look at yours. Gambitaudiodirectory pic.

Look at where I place my Audio folder in Myaudioplacement pic.

My missions are in the Hold The Line and Lapino IL2 Training SP folders.

I hope this helps. You may have to go back into your mission and reconfigure your audio assignments. :salute:

Added a image of my Hold The Line tank series .rar contents with my Audio folder.

So, a separate Audio folder in the mission folder needs to be created.

Well...another live and learn moment I guess. I figured placing the media folder in the same folder as the mission itself

was the smart way to do this. Grrrr.....

Odd that it works for me, but not when sending the mission to someone else.

So when a player, tester, customer downloads or tests a mission/campaign, aside from installing the mission/campaign, they'll also have to manually drag the audio files over

to this new folder, and overwrite it each time they download a new version, or I make a change during testing.

Seems like an extra step that could be eliminated if I could just keep the audio files folder in the same folder as the mission that uses them.

Oh well...

Thanks for the help!

If I'm still missing something, let me know.

In my .rar file example the user can just extract both included folders into their games Missions folder. :salute:

An anomaly I spotted was a gambit21 directory that showed up when assigning sound files but didn't really exist. See top image above. That could be one of the problems.

I didn't investigate it but is there a reason you used the Stop Sound function?

By the way, the mission ran well except of the voice files.

 Thanks Thad.

The ‘Stop’ sound allows time acceleration to be used again after each radio exchange - makes testing easier. :)

Pretty sure you can put the audio files anywhere inside the mission folder or inside their own sub-folders. Something like below is okay:

--->  C:\...\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\data\Missions\AUDIOFILESHERE   <----

But I prefer to have sub-folders for a more professional looking and cleaner directory:

---> C:\...\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\data\Missions\Audio\MissionName\AUDIOFILESHERE   <---

Also, since the "Audio" sub-folder is not created already... if we, mission designers, all stick with "Audio\MissionName\AUDIOFILES" as our directory for audio files, then it's easier for us to troubleshoot audio issues for our players.

I pretty much have all the campaigns that have been built for the game and Gambit has his file structure with the media file in his just like everyone else has.  So I'm not sure why his audio does not work.  I would not know if the others are working either since they are either in German or Russian so I can't tell the special audio from the stock in game audio.

Which makes sense...thus I'm baffled as to why it doesn't work when I send to you.

Maybe I'll take away one folder in the structure and see if it works for you.

So right now it's

Box/data/Missions/Gambit/Hellhawks/individual missions plus media folder

I'll try...

Box/data/Missions/Hellhawks/individual missions plus media folder.

If that doesn't work for you, then I'll go to an Audio folder in the main missions directory, which isn't my first choice

but if it has to be that way...

Thing is, if keeping the audio folder in the sub-folder with the missions works for me, I'm confused as why it wouldn't work for anyone else.

I'll eliminate my "Gambit" folder and re-Zip/send later or tomorrow.

Okay, I got it to work by looking in your media file at the "List File" and the structure for audio calls is  "missions\gambit21\hellhawks\media", so I built that file structure with

"data/Missions/gambit21/hellhawks/mission and media files" and now the mission has the correct file structure to find the audio file callout.  At the end of airfield circuit I get the audio file that matches the text file.  So you need to build the mission and make sure you package it with your file structure so when it goes in the testers data/Missions/Gambit's missions/mission name it will be able to find the media file.  Problema solved...........................

Cheers
