How do I play this? I registered but always get a message you cannot use that airplane, belongs to another pilot, also if I take off I get kicked.

I go to the airfields in capital letters.

I spent a lot of time going from airfield to airfield until somehow an airplane is available.

How do I get an airplane to play in this server.

---> The Manual  <----

You fly from supplied airfield (in all caps) to unsupplied, or lower supplied airfield near front lines. Your plane (if you left it there) becomes available when the mission rotates every three hours. Unless there's that plane type already at that airfield, then one of those planes becomes your reserved plane immediately.

I have tried to take off from all caps airfields and I am not allowed.

It wasnt like this before, looks unecessarily complicated.

I'd say that's just how you make sure to keep people off your server

Think of it as an idiot filter. Surprising how many get filtered with systems like these on TAW and equivalent servers.

Harsh but true. I haven't been on Coconut's for about three months, but just now was able to select a plane from a rear airfield with no trouble.

No problems with TAW I play it all the time.

Its not an idiot filter , its an stupid system overcomplicated for no reason.

Not an idiot filter it's a different way playing on a server.

You like or not but it is not idiot.

Not so far away  from TAW rules in fact.

Let me see if I can try again with helping you...

Did you read the manual? ---> The Manual  <----  The manual explains your original question and how the entire logistic system works in Coconut's campaign.

Secondly, no rules were changed recently, but if you want to see Coconut's changelog, you can view it on his Discord channel. (Coconut Server is currently at 1.25.1.0) Here's a link to join that channel: https://discord.gg/f3TJTU3

You can also find information on the first post of this thread:

If you're still struggling, there's often players in Coconut's Discord voice channels that can walk you through the process of selecting a plane from the rear airfield and piloting it to the front line.

Finally, I don't think Coconut is walking around going "MY SERVER MY RULES!!!", but if you feel that way, I would suggest maybe making your own server? IDK. Maybe your comment came out with the wrong kind of connotation.

Do try these things, and report back if you're still struggling.

Thanks for your help, I went to the farthest airfield and took off in a 109, was not in ALL CAPS , none of the airfields were in caps, so sometimes they are sometimes they arent in caps, dont know what that means..

His server , his rules, means he can make them as he wishes, is up to us if we play in them or not, dont like it ?dont play or make your own server, which is valid.

It's as @[TWB]Sketchsays. The change was put in place to solve the problem that some players systematically took planes from a forward airfield, and lost them. The ones who were ferrying the planes got annoyed by that, understandably. The system appears to have worked. It's unfortunate it's a bit unintuitive, but it's the best I could do with what the game offers today in terms of user interface in multi-player.
