I‘m familiar with that kind of problems. Shoot the horse. Get BoK.

I'll take the leather and have someone make a nice A-2 out of it ?

You can eat horse. It‘s good meat. Problem is, the one you just shot is not typically one of the kind that produces good meat. Should you have been weak and given it medication before you shot it, it is not recommended (and illegal) eating meat of animals that have been administred medication. Leather is fine though.

@Adger, did you shoot it yet?

Haha,I'm up here at the stables at the minute..if it keeps looking at me like it wants to give me a good kicking it'll get put down any second  Zacharias

Thing is I pay for every bloody thing for it..Hay,fruit veg vets Bills.Stable fees...my daughters just collared me for a new blanket for it?? And the crazy thing hates me,she keeps telling me I should ride him. No chance pal haha.

On a different note I didn't get finished till late last night,up and working again this morning then straight up the stables so as yet no BOK purchased..I'm truly hoping to grab it later and have a couple of hrs peace..I'm sending the kids to their Grandparents. ( They don't know it yet)

I doubt I'm the only one (I hope) that finds the whole side discussion about the horse somewhat disturbing on multiple levels.

Pay for one, it will add you levels. But these levels will be more expensive and less rewarding than the BoK map. ;)

Great to hear! Also, you're welcome!

I haven't tried it and I've probably reached peak flight simulator saturation at this point with the Rise of Flight, IL-2 and DCS series. I'm still trying to learn the M-2000C, the F/A-18C, the AV-8B and at the same time I'm flying just about everything that IL-2 has to offer including most recently Flying Circus Vol 1 (purchased minutes ago).

As much as I love horses I'd eat one in a heartbeat, they probably taste delicious, of course I'll eat just about anything that has meat on it except for humans, frog legs are my favorite.

Same here as horses aren't much different than any other livestock in my opinion, squirrel is one of my favorites, but skinning them is a pain.

You shouldn‘t eat you own species, no matter the reason. At least if you plan to make a habit of it. Prions will become much quicker a problem for you if Hamburgers are made from folks living in Hamburg instead of cow.

Both Michael Rockefeller (yes, from that family) had to find out the hard way that some people had an unhealty diet. They supposedly eat somthing healthier now, but personally, I wouldn‘t go and ask them.

Horse meat is a very good meat, downside is that there are few (if any) regulations about keeping horses for that purpose, often involving abyssmal conditions. It is always a good idea to know where your food is from.

“Wenn kein Pferd in deinem Rindfleisch war, dann hast du Schwein gehabt.“

(Old, google translate resistant German proverb.)

Back to the thread. Great screenies. :)

As a country person I like to get food myself, whether it be from hunting or raising it, I never liked the idea of animals suffering in a slaughterhouse or huge farm. Skinning squirrels is very easy depending on how you do it.

That brings us back on topic. Kuban map... ships. Torpedoes maybe eventually? So far, just rochets and bombs. This also brings along the good old food issue

Best thing for a squirrel is a .223 with a ballistic tip. Gives you that “red mist” effect, and nothing left to eat - which is a good thing.

Idk man, I think a .50 BMG would do a better job, unless of course you want to eat it afterwards. They are delicious.

Squirrel? .20 air rifle always serves me well. Not eating them but just clearing out the vegetable garden.

Reading this thread confirms my feeling that, when you ask for reasons to buy something is because you already have plenty of them silently but steadily knocking on your brain.

It's just a matter of time to pull the trigger (no horse pun intended ;) ).

In addition to all the reasons given, mine is usually the need to collect the series, even if I rarely have the time to use all of it. So I have my aim in bodenplatte now...

Enjoy the awesome Kuban stuff!

Here's the thing, when the entire release is a showstopper, how do you identify one standout? Imho the map is just wonderful. You can actually navigate by 'feel' after a while rather than frantically counting roads and rivers as I find I have to in Moscow and Stalingrad. This keeps my head up in the cockpit and means I do usually at least see whoever is just about to shoot me down.

I primarily fly reds. The a20 is a fighter pilots bomber. Ground handling is a dream and with a bit of route planning you can storm in and deliver a devastating amount of ordinance on target and Foxtrot Oscar home at wavetop height like a boss. The Mosquito is the only plane I can imagine delivering a greater thrill in that kind of mission profile.

The Yak7 is just a dream, a nice halfway house between the la5fn and the spit v.

The sea dragons campaign is super evocative and has hugely increased my confidence in taking an il2 in MP.

If you want to avoid vet bills in future, I would suggest eating the horse. Tender and delicious. Leaner than beef. Mmmmmmmm...

The A-20 is the only bomber where I strafed an artillery emplacement to death, destroyed a tank with a bomb, then shot down an enemy plane (BF-110). This wasn't just in the same mission with the A-20, it was all in the same bombing run in MP.

Ah, I see from later posts that you bought Kuban, congratulations! Everyone else covered Kuban's strengths. I'll just add that it is my favorite of all the IL-2's. I'm really a Western Front guy, but I think I'll enjoy Kuban more than Bodenplatte due to the gorgeous map.

Oh, I'd never shoot a cucumber............Oh, wait, I thought you were sticking up for vegetarians.

I actually discoverd air rifles through a YouTube video of English dove hunting with ultra high end .177 pneumatics.
