Talon_ Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Hi guys, thought it was about time I posted some of the work I've been doing. I'm quite new to the IL-2 skinning game but I've done a few for other games in the past. Thanks to @ICDP for his excellent template. I'm gonna make this a "master post" and edit this to link to skins as they get posted in the future - this line will be gone then. Edited July 29, 2018 by Talon_ 1

Talon_ Posted July 29, 2018 Author Posted July 29, 2018 Spitfire VIII MT960 "UM-M" DOWNLOAD (Above: The only known surviving picture of MT960) Built at Supermarine's Keevil facility in 1944 this aircraft was shipped out to serve with RAF No.152 (Hyderabad) Squadron - also known as the Black Panthers. She was flown as UM-M in India for the course of the war, and upon returning home was SOC on the 31st May, only three weeks after the end of the war in Europe. This squadron were famously known as the "Black Panthers of Burma", a name which was christened upon them after Flight Sergeant Leonard Alfred Smith painted the first animal on the side of his Spitfire around Christmas 1943. The squadron moved on to flying the Griffon-powered Spitfire 14c by 1945, so this aircraft was no longer needed. No. 152 (Hyderabad) Squadron are still represented today with Spitfire Mk.XIX PS980 flying their colours, a Spitfire owned by the private collector Christophe Jacquard. This Spitfire would have flown with or without a mirror, but as it was a Mark VIII it would have had the full-length wing and a Merlin 66 engine. Most of 152 (Hyderabad)'s missions were CAS and ground attack, so flying with ground ordnance is perfectly appropriate. More pictures from the Squadron are available here . 3 2 5
