jollyjack Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) GHOST PLANES ALERT in Gramps no 3 !!! 3 weird unmarked Messerschmidts keep shooting at me in this one, sometimes they're gone, sometimes not, not seen from cockpit view funny enough when shooting at my po ol' Pe-2. Pls see the first 2 pics. Guess triggered after destroying 2 naval on the way ..... maybe some ME error? PS Found out that with this Pe-2 scrambling from the attacked airfield on start, in the direction of the mountains one should not use flaps on take off, or you'll end in the trees or ditch BTW. Fun when you make it! You'll need Kuban for this ... ADDED: opened with the ME for fun, changed the player Pe-2 for a A20b, the same 3 unmarked ME109 spooks appeared after bombing the 2 ships .... and the whole Gramps Three mission all of a sudden was a piece of cake; no wonder this A20 is so popular. See lowest picture. Edited February 10, 2021 by jollyjack cleaup pictures
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted August 30, 2019 Author Posted August 30, 2019 Hmm, those "ghost" unmarked 109's look an awful like Mc202's. Just a heads up Jack. Gramps 3 is set with a randomizer for different scenarios. No "ghosts", just a different sortie. Hang tight behind your leader and No.2 for the taxi and take-off if you'd like as he makes the call or go your own way. All good... Tip 1 1

Falcon41 Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Tips, I fully enjoyed your Neptune 4 mission, particularly the re-arm and refuel feature. It allows you to attack all enemy facilities and to do more complete patrols. One thing I’d like to more fully understand is how do you set up the random enemy attacks, e.g., German fighters attacking P-51’s during their takeoff runs or shortly thereafter. Great mission 1

Great mission Glad you are having a good time with it. Enjoyed making and certainly flying that one myself. Agreed, the RRR takes it to a different level and has allowed me the freedom to keep expanding the objectives dynamically within a SP environment. So it was fun to make. Random things happen basically by setting the % that MCU Timers fire off. As far as how you set up the complete random works and specifically the base attack within this mission that'd be a tall order as the attack itself requires a few layers of logic playing off each other to function correctly which starts with the random works calling for that scenario. Appreciate the comment. Tip 1

Falcon41 Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Tip, I really love your missions, particularly the re-arm, re-fuel feature, it very immersive. However, I had an interesting thing happen the other day flying the Action at Asch mission. After escorting B-25’s we encountered EA at altitude and in the fighting I noticed that several EA appeared to suddenly explode without my firing a shot! Can you explain this, is it something you put into the mission or is it a bug of some kind? I’ve never experienced this before in this sim! By the way keep the missions coming ... great work! 1 1

Spontaneous Luftwaffe Combustion is by design to clear for players CPU purposes. I'll take a looksee and add some more playtime for that scenario or choose other logic which will achieve the same purpose. Thanks for the comment, Tip
Falcon41 Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Tip, Thanks for the reply, but can you further explain Spontaneous Luftwaffe Combustion helps our CPU? I'm not as informed as some of you regarding computers, but a little more info would help a great deal.

Liked this mission when I made it for the Lullaby for a Dream Campaign and it transfers nicely to the P-47s. Glad your having a good time with it, Tip
