Steam says my product key is invalid.

I just purchased Il-2 BoS from this site.  When I went to Steam it said the product code is invalid.  How do I fix that or get a refund from this site?

Thanks, but of course Steam says contact the retailer.  I hate my life ...

Correction, I bought IL-2 Battle of Moscow.  Still doesn't work.  Why do we have to mess with Steam anyway?  I'm not interested in online play  Why can't I just buy a CD and play it at home?

If you've bought the game from this site, rather than from Steam, you don't need to use Steam at all.

You don't need to enter the keys on Steam if you bought the game on this site. Do you already have Battle of Stalingrad on Steam? If you do, start it and Battle of Moscow should already be activated on your user profile. If not, go here and click activate key https://il2sturmovik.com/store/license-keys/

 

If you don't already have Battle of Stalingrad on Steam that's fine, you don't need it just download the standalone installer here https://il2sturmovik.com/download/

Where do you get the idea that you need Steam for this game? You don´t.

Thanks to everyone who responded.  with your help I found the activation app on IL-2 and am now ready play.   Nobody ever told me I didn't have to use Steam.  You have broken my chains!  Power to the people!
