No238_Difford Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I am trying to start a mission in mission editor. My AI wingman just sits parked while I taxi out and take off. I have tried everything to get him to even start up his engines?
No238_Difford Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 yeah Im lead aircraft but he just stays still totally and wont start up engines battleofthebulge01.zip
JimTM Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 You need to object link a take-off command to the AI wingman and trigger the takeoff command somehow. For example: Mission Begin ---> 2-second timer ---> Takeoff ---> AI Wingman ----> Your Plane I've used that method while I was sitting on the runway but it should also work from the parking area. 1
No238_Difford Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 whats an Object link? is that when I target one to another or object one to another

The link is shown as a green line with an arrow pointing toward an object or translator. For more details, see pg. 8 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual.
No238_Difford Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 yeah it doesnt work Ai just sits there tryed everything
Gambit21 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Jim...I'm fixing his mission and will post it. DIFFOR, For some odd reason I'm having trouble getting your mission to show up in my missions list, even after deleting the .msbin, even after just copying the needed group into a new mission, renaming and re-saving. I'm not sure what's going on. I fixed it, and just wanted to run a quick test before posting it. At an impasse with that so far. In any case the fix is placing an airfield MCU, adding a chart, and editing the chart to place waypoints, allowing the aircraft to taxi to the runway and take off. Also the first waypoint needs to be at a lower alt when that close to the field - try 350 meters or so. I'll keep trying to get your fixed mission posted. If not I'll just make another example and post it tomorrow. Edited May 7, 2018 by Gambit21 1
