coconut Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 This post is primarily intended for the makers of dynamic multiplayer servers, i.e. servers that use scripts parsing logs to affect the outcome of a mission. I have posted my suggestion in the dedicated post of the appropriate forum: The suggestion would allow to end a player's mission, i.e. send them back to the map screen and show them an explanation of why their flight was cancelled. Ideally this would happen before the player has had time to take off. I think this would be nicer, from the player's point of view, than being kicked out of the server. If you have any comments or minor improvements/changes to my suggestion, feel free to discuss that here.
Thad Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I think such a capability could add to the immersion factor for a player.
coconut Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 @LLv34_Untamo You mentioned in the suggestion thread an alternative suggestion to give control over the planesets through a RCON command. I would like that, but I don't think it can address the individual constraint aspect, i.e. X can take off with a Bf109 with bombs, but Y can't. (I initially wrote my answer in the suggestion thread, but I'm not sure if we are allowed/supposed to discuss things there)
LLv34_Untamo Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 (edited) Ok, I was writing a PM but here is better ... Just wait a moment, I'll give an example... (scribble scribble) EDIT: Well, if your background controller app decides you want to give player X one Bf109 with bombs, there would be an RCON command, with syntax, for example: addresource <resourcetype> with <loadoutspecs> to <airfieldname> for <userid> where "for <userid" could be omitted, if the resource is added to all players. Similar commands to query and remove resources. Edited April 30, 2018 by LLv34_Untamo
