What has happened to the Official BOS Teamspeak server?

The last recorded connection info I have for it is IP 8.3.5.133, Port 9407. It has been down for several days now. Has it moved or is it just down?

Its kind of hard to foster an online community for this Sim without Voice Comms.   For the sake of any new players ( and those that don't belong to a Squadron) this issue should be looked into.  I am not saying there is an obligation for 1C to provide a TS Server but something needs to be done to facilitate players communicating in  Multi-Player.  A simple reply of even "the server is offline permanently" would be sufficient (though sad) .  At least then we could have a discussion amongst ourselves of what to do.

I think it's because a lot of people have moved from TS to Discord. There's a thread here about the semi-official Discord, which is where I think a lot of players have gone.

 

I don't fly multi much anymore as a result of limited time, but that Discord server seems to be fairly popular.

Just popped in but there is not a single person in voice Comms.

Your not kidding.  I am subscribed to like 4 IL-2 Discord servers now no one is actually in voice Comms right now.

Yeah, TS is much better for voice comms. Whispers, more channel options, etc. Discord is great for communities that aren't at the stage that they need their own forums yet.

The IP changed I believe. I need to look but I am traveling this weekend so can’t work on it until Monday. If anyone is tech savvy and wants to administer this thing let me know. I think they wanted me to connect it to a domain or something.

Glad to hear that the Official Team Speak is back or will be back up. If you're looking for other ways to fly with people...We have a community Discord as well. It has been discussed and its likely on the roadmap.

I have discord and my old group used it once in awhile, but I have about seven different channels, JG54, 19//, TAW, BoS, WoL, Sheriff, The Merge, TWB, and I hardly see anyone using them, it's a good source of information via all the chat threads they have, but not much used for comms. I did however use the BoS TS server quite a bit to hook up with other players in game.  Sad to see it's gone.  Case in point, there was a good crowd on TAW last night, from different squads, and freelancers all on the same channel coordinating to get missions coordinated, which made the experience a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

tried to connect and it didn't work with original bookmark, deleted it, loaded the info again from the forums and now i can connect.  If anyone else is having problems you should probably do the same.

Yeah I'd go with TS3 for comms. I can sit on comms during a weekend on my server, and have maybe 1 or 2 people visit.

I even tried to have a set date and time we would fly with limited turn out. It's effectively just turned into a IL-2 Forum Lite. ?

 

Ah well, guess I tried.

Discord is mainly for Hipsters to be honest. 

 

We have plenty of us playing together everyday on both the Official BOS TS and on the WOL TS.
