Virpil Controls Oders

Has anyone in the US been successful placing an order with Virpil recently?  I have tried two different times, w/2 different cards, and both times they were declined. Funny thing is that neither of my banks ever received the request for payment. Waiting to hear back again from Virpil, each time it fails they have to re-set my 5% discount code. Getting a little frustrated. I don't think it's Virpil but rather the company they use to process transactions.

I had issues trying to order. What I did was got my bank on the phone while I was trying to make the purchase and they had to push it through.

Well I have tried 5 times in the past 24 hours to order Virpil equipment.  All attempts were declined including two with a banker watching approval on my account.  The first attempts were made with AMEX cards which should work through assist which is like PayPal.  The last three attempts were made using a VISA card from my bank.  Failed every time.  Virpil respond to my first emails but hasn't respond to my last email.  Their stuff is even on sale and I want it but I cannot buy it.  It may be the fault of my bank, or the payment service, or the Virpil system may be screwed up.  But I would welcome a suggestion.  I will point out that assist advertises accepting AMEX but evidently does not.  ??????

Did your banker actually see the requests being received, and denied?  The reason I ask is the first couple of times Virpil declined the transaction my bank had no record of having received the transaction requests. My bank would have declined the initial request, and notified me. Once I contacted the bank and authorized the transaction, a re-order would have been processed properly. At that time I think it was an issue with the Assist systems.

Yes, twice with VISA the banker saw the charge and told me they were approving it.  It was declined but I don't know think the bankers had any idea why it was denied.  I have only had to do this  problem once before when I ordered somethings from a little shop in Holland.  I called my bank and the payment went through.  I too wonder if it is the Assist system.  Back 20 years or so ago, I was ordering out of print aviation related books from Australia, Canada, England using Abe books (long before Amazon made it so easy) but never anything from Eastern Europe.  I haven't looked at the Facebook page that Virpil has set up because I no longer use FB.   I appreciate the help.

I have called my bank and they were online when I tried to order after several attempts. They couldn't help me, I get declined and it says to contact the merchant. I cant even register as a user on Virpil's site. I get a confirmation email but still can't log on.............frustrating!

The Virpil email today about using a bank transfer services suggest by Gramps.  However, I decided to wait until I could just use a credit card.  Since I am also a grandfather (known as Pop Pop) I also wanted to mention something I just realized and that is I would not be able to use a stick extension near the center line of my body.  The reason being that I have had rotator cuff surgery.  I probably could use a center mounted stick using my left arm but think I am going to stay with a stick mounted on the right side of my table.  My brother (retired Air Force Officer among other things) is an excellent furniture maker and I think I will get him to build a sim cockpit to go around my office chair.  He loves projects.  Virpil has sales going on now so if you are looking for controls and can place an order then this is probably a good time.  I would also like to upgrade my throttle (CH) so I will be reading reviews.  

 

My personal opinion, just based on a hunch, is that the problems using the assist system (Assist Belarus) is maybe in the payment interface. But I honestly don't know.  Here is a link to the assist https://www.belassist.by/
