FoxbatRU Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) I made for myself Mod "A set of skins for the squadron with tactical numbers." It allows at the time of activation to replace all official skins of aircraft (now it's MiG-3 and I-16) on the skins of one regiment, but with different tactical numbers. Also, it changes the default skins (now it's MiG-3 and I-16). http://www.mediafire.com/file/9v8ui4pdj0bu1nl/Set_of_skins_for_the_squadron_with_tactical_numbers_(VVS).v1.zip (summer skins MiG-3 and I-16) http://www.mediafire.com/file/cwy65fb3p3e38nd/Set of skins for the squadron with tactical numbers (VVS).winter.v1.zip (winter skins MiG-3 and I-16) http://www.mediafire.com/file/7ttpl8z2a2qos08/WhiteBots.zip (mod replaces all default summer skins on winter ones) This Mod allows in his career to assign to his wingmans planes skins with different tactical numbers. To be able to change skins by wingmans, you need the player to be in the status of the regiment commander. To use the mod, you need to unzip it into the "Mods" folder and enable it using OvGME. Mod must be activated after activating other mods that change skins. With the question of rewriting, you need to agree. After the mode is turned off, the default skins are returned to the place. Special Thanks to: For my mod, I used the structure of Mod from TG-55Panthercules. For the MiG-3 skins (summers) I used as a basis for VBF-12_Stick-95 skins and a default template. For the MiG-3 skins (winter) I used as a basis for szelljr skins and a default template. Skins I-16 I made with the help of the ICDP template and the default template. Feathered_IV Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Brilliant! Exactly the mod and the aircraft I was looking for. 1
56RAF_Roblex Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 (edited) I did this for my own squadron and it takes a while. It is not that it is difficult after you have made the first one but each one is fiddly and time consuming. I made a dozen skins with personal emblems for both the Spitfire & Yak-1b as everyone in the squad was flying those aircraft at some point. We found it useful to be able to recognise who was who when taxiing out by looking at the code number or personal emblem under the cockpit so we could get together in our pairs quickly. I then did about 6 personalised Mig-3 skins as some of the squad did not own BoM or did not like the Mig (fools!) so I was not going to waste my time making them their own skin. After that I made four PE2s and just numbered them 1 to 4 and now I tend to just make one general aircraft with a squad skin for each new aircraft so we can at least be sure we are flying alongside a squad member :-) If we find that the whole squad likes to fly the La-5FN or Yak-7b whenever possible then I may consider making 12 personal ones. Most are 'bastardised' ICDP skins underneath. Here is an example of us in a line though you can only see two personal; emblems. The firebird emblem, white tail tip & glaring red wingtips makes it easier to recognise squad aircraft in the middle of a dogfight that might include other pilots. Semor76 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 ...now we need a good soul who can do this for all russian planes in Summer/Winter versions. 1
FoxbatRU Posted April 9, 2018 Author Posted April 9, 2018 I plan to do it for the winter for the Air Force. I will do as I reach every stage in my career. While I'm in November 1941. But if someone connect, I'll be happy. The structure of the mod is simple. 1

You do realise though that if you use a custom winter skin in a Winter map then everyone else will just see the default skin which is usually bright green so you will stand out like a sore thumb against the snow? :-) Jason has been asked if he can at least make it so the default skin for a Winter map is a white one but I am not sure if that is a high priority for them.

OK I was talking about MP but..... did I not read something about the career mode not allowing you to change anything but your own skin? Edited April 9, 2018 by 56RAF_Roblex
Feathered_IV Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 When you reach commander you can assign skins to your flight, but only official skins. Unfortunately the custom selection is so atypical, that it ends up looking like your flight is dressed for Mardi grass. 1

There are 4K default (summer) and white skin mods for all Axis (with hakenkreuz) and Soviet aircraft if that is what you mean. FoxbatRU Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 Added a version of the mod for the winter skins MiG-3 and I-16. Link in the first message. 2
Grajo Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Hi, Great idea and Mod so far. Thank you FoxbatRU. Just wondering if the ability to choose skins for the rest of the squadron could be "Moded" as well, so we can start to enjoy this for the beginning of the career. Or on the other hand, (this would not be so cool, but still would make the trick) if we could start a new carrier already as a Commander. Thanks 1
FoxbatRU Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Yes, I also think that it would be good to be able to assign skins to everyone and not being a commander. But I think it's impossible to fix it with mods. You need to ask the developers to make this change. Let not the commander change only the skins, but he could not change planes and weapons.
Grajo Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Thanks for the info FoxbatRU. Yea, would be very combenient if they could include something like this in the future. Is indeed not very imersive if all your squad does not show similar/same skin with a diferent given number. They could use the skins that you are sharing here with permision of their autors. Something like that would be great! 1
FoxbatRU Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 (edited) Made another small mod. It replaces all default summer skins, on winter ones. While playing in the BoM in the winter, I noticed that all the bots, except for my squadron bots are not white (summer color). I do not know whether this is a bug or a feature. But for myself, I made a mod that fixes it. Skins I took with others with historic markings and some with airborne numbers. Accordingly, the same type of aircraft, the same number. But I believe that this is the lesser of evils. In my squadron, I replace the skins driven by another of my mods. I did not find all the authors of the used skins, since I downloaded them for a long time and some of them were included in large packages. But if someone is against the authors, I will replace them with others. http://www.mediafire.com/file/7ttpl8z2a2qos08/WhiteBots.zip Edited April 12, 2018 by FoxbatRU 1 1
Semor76 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Downloading! Thank you Foxbat! How about put all in one pack once you are finish with all markings?
FoxbatRU Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Yes, theoretically this third mode can be combined with the winter one. But I have so far left the choice, include both or only one. In the third a lot of skins with numbers. Not everyone can like that in the group the planes have the same numbers. But since it suits me, I left them. I think that the tactical number of the target is not so often seen in combat. But it is more often visible, there is a tactical number or it is not present. But I'll think about it.
