blitze Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Brilliant!! You guys rock. Now be gone and enjoy Easter. 1
Enceladus828 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Since the U-2/ Po-2 is made by a third party team (according to a dev update) will it be released for free, or at a cheap price.

Of course it's moving forward. They hand selected the external team to produce it. If they didn't have faith it would meet standards they wouldn't have handed the project off in the first place. The doubt about the project comes from this statement made by Jason when he announced the Battle of Bodenplatte, Flying Circus, Tank Crew and more... Here is a link: And here is what he wrote about it at the time: "Last but not least, part of our overall plan is to work with one of our long-time professional development partners to produce airplanes. This is not a guaranteed success and much work needs to be done to make this a reality, but we are giving it a shot. There is much more to our airplanes than just the model. Much training will need to be done to pull this off. If successful, we plan to make the Li-2 next. We are making NO PROMISES, but here are a couple very early WIP pics." 2
BMA_FlyingShark Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Glad to see we're also getting the clipped wings version of the spit MKIX. Have a nice day.
Rjel Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I'm not a big fan of the pointy tailed Spits. Aesthetically, in my mind anyway, the older rounded tail better fits the gracefully designed airframe. But what the Hell? It's a Spitfire just the same. I'm sure I'll enjoy it all the same. I'm looking forward to the G-14 too. I find it the most attractive of the series. Good update. Good to see more tweaks are headed our way in a few weeks. 3.001 has been running great for me from the day of the release. 2
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 So excited to see Bodenplatte kick off and the Spitfire IX is just fantastic. Clipped wing, pointy tail, E-type wing, this is great! 1

The point made was that the 'rest' is a return to a normal tough 5 day week rather than a life-threatening super-tough 7 day week. Hardly 'rest'.
SOLIDKREATE Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I cannot wait!!!! I am so torn between starting a P-38 unit or a Jug unit. 1
=gRiJ=Roman- Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Why so many people glad about this ... https://goo.gl/images/1c1TXa
migmadmarine Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 All great stuff, beautiful Tiger shots, just please be sure to take the headlamps off as they were removed before combat whenever possible, as they blocked the gun.

Sure but it is clearly a long term relationship with a deep learning curve for many aspects of the design expectation as well. I wouldn't expect much news unless it was going well and I wouldn't expect it to die on the vine unless the DEV's said, "Sorry, boys. It just didn't work out." As neither had happened, I assumed no news is simply no news regarding the P0-2 and it was progressing quietly................as it obviously is.
Ribbon Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Can't wait for beeing a clown in that Circus! Flying Circus preorder when? 1 1 2
Raptorattacker Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 WoooHOOOOO!! The hair on the back of my neck still hasn't gone down from the last update yet!! Keep on keeping on guys, thanks!!
KoN_ Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Thank you gents for your hard work , glad to see fix coming to multiplayer yeeehaaaa!!!
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 So is that Po2 different to the textured one we have already seen? Seems strange that they have shown it like this when we already have seen the textured one.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) I looked around for that old thread, so I could compare, but couldn't find it. Maybe that original was just a proof of concept and the DEV's sent them back to the drawing board with new tools and direction. Edited April 7, 2018 by II/JG17_HerrMurf

It looks like someone barnstormed through a hanger which wasn't quite wide enough. Same though, I'll enjoy it all the same.
TP_Sparky Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I can't wait for Flying Circus. Also love the Po-2. I'm having a blast with career mode, BoK, and am delighted more content comes soon. I was ready to order Flying Circus the day it was announced. 2
Field-Ops Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 It seems that his new PO-2 model is a bit higher poly than the old textured one in the announcement. The wheels and some of the engine components seem more rounded and less jagged. Excellent update Devs! This is what I come here for!
EAF19_Marsh Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Fantastic stuff. The Spit looks lovely (defs. 25lb boost model if we have an E-Wing, tall tail ) and you have really managed managed to capture the power and menace of the Tiger.
Royal_Flight Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Glad to see the Po-2 isn't an urban myth. I hope it isn't far from release. Good to hear there is going to be some action taken against bugs too. And the Spit looks predictably awesome. Glad we've got a clipped-wing option too, I wasn't expecting that. All looks great.
=GW=Golan_34 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 The player has increased,so,we need a good friend list to chat 。 1
Danziger Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Is it just me or is that tank way more high definition visual quality than the current ones?

senseispcc Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Thanks for the news. The Po2 shall be nice addition to the games, all of those on the eastern front because it is maybe the only plane that flew from 1941 to 1945 and beyond. And in so many versions and roles, training, reconnaissance, harassment, ambulance, supply, liaison, etc. The Spitfire and Me109 G14 are great additions to the already fast collection of planes in the IL2 BOX games. And the Spitfire clipped or not clipped wings versions presence are good news because historically the two versions where present at the front during the same periods. And finally thanks to the development team to try to iron out the last problems with the actual 3.001 version.

You are right Boris, that new, much better models. Anyway is hard to compare actual models, when we have not Tiger in current game
JG4_Sputnik Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 " Graphics, Career, AI, multiplayer and some other stuff will be addressed." Soo glad to hear that!! I have high hopes that the career will even get better Bodenplatte and Flying Circus - can't wait to preorder it

csThor Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Interesting. Are the differences in 3D between a "normal" Bf 109 G-14 and a Bf 109 G-14/AS too large to allow it to be a modification for the G-14? The G-14/AS were quite numerous in Reich Defense units in autumn 1944 (i.e. the loss list of III./JG 300 contains almost only G-14/AS entries in September 1944). 3
