Yak-9 as collectors plane ?

Hi,

 

just wondering here. Are there any plans to release a YAK 9 as a collectors plane? IIRC that was one of the most build fighters during the war (15.000) and entered service in late 1942. Would fit nicely into the Stalingrad and Kuban settings and certainly in any Citadel/Prockorovka scenario (if there will be one in the future).

and for a later 1944 - 45 timeframe perhaps add the YAK-3 and La 7 ?

Not unless there are plans made for 1944-45 maps, and right now there none.

@BlackSix has corrected the notion that there were Yak-9s at Stalingrad.

Hi Luke,

 

thanks for your answers. So we have to keep faith that once they decide to integrate new maps and timeframes we might see new russian toys. I´m looking forward that in the future we might see the possibility to start a career in the game 1941 at Moscow and finish it 1945 in Berlin :-) Time will tell.

One can only hope. Perhaps someday they'll add a Kharkov map that can be fought over multiple times with multiple eras of aircraft!

 

Speaking of maps, does anyone know if the Prokhorovka map allows pilots to stretch their wings over Kursk, or is it tank only?

Don´t know about their plans, but it wouldn´t make sense to invest time into creating a map and not using it for the flight sim. Time will tell.

We actually should be getting the Yak-9 and Yak-9T in the next few weeks.
