Thank you guys for the great Mosquito template!

But...

You missed the generic Dark Green camo on the fin???

This isn't even the same camo pattern as in the template. The colours are inverted.

Moskyt coloring in template is a compilation of possible variants. It's not bad, but you have to modify the template for some of the aircraft camouflages captured in the photos.

In fact, there were three different looks for the camouflage fields for the following schemes:
- day fighter scheme
- day bomber scheme
- night fighter scheme
- the previous three with black lower surfaces for Night Intruder operations
- temperate land scheme
- temperate sea scheme I and II
- the same with the omission of the light colour (in the game as special duties scheme)
- several possible subdivisions of the SOP camouflage according to the scheme and the factory that produced the machine. And I'm not confusing bombing and reconnaissance variants.

This two pictures is Day bomber scheme

They didn't all have the fin camo, but I agree , some with it would make a bit of variety.

The picture above shows the aircraft in Day fighter scheme, Night f. scheme, again Day, Night and Day scheme. The aircraft in the same photo frontally carries the night fighter scheme. all with the second way of dividing the colour fields on the fuselage and engines.

The UPoG aircraft then carries its night fighter scheme. At the beginning of production the scheme divisions were followed very strictly, later this was no longer the case.

Erm, it's a template. It's for making custom skins with.

The whole point of it is for people to 'do their own thing' with it and the schemes in it are merely generic i.e. for guidance.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.
It's just a foundation on which to build your own buildings.
And that's exactly how I use it.

That's what I was trying to highlight in my post. Not to criticize.

FW190 A6 Templates; i found 2 downloaded versions on my drive, probably from various official {?} uploads.

Fw190-a6_Template_v2.zip (466.269 KB) and Fw190A-6_Public_v3.zip (624,442 KB).

They seem just about the same, but the Fw190-a6_Template_v2 one is on the BON download section.

I wonder where that Fw190A-6_Public_v3 version originated ... it's too large to post here, but if someone wants it PM me.

Would it be possible to get a couple of layers that were used on the official Mosquito skins? Specifically the full set of invasion stripes used on the RAF D-Day blank and the black underside from the Night Intruder blank?

What you could do is use unGTP to extract those skins from Your game folder>data>Skins21 (I think, either that or 20).
http://www.mediafire.com/file/caxpalaudz1hd47/unGTP-IL2.zip and then copy the bits you need.

Alternatively you could use the D-Day stripes and the NIght Black underside that are actually IN the official template?

Or wing it.... on D-Day itself many of the 'Invasion Stripes' were very rough and ready. Often they were just painted on with a large brush.

Does anyone know what components/mods are covered in the second, smaller mosquito template?

Yeah I do extract the official skins from the .gtp files (took me awhile to find the blank mosquito skins, oddly they were not in the skins or planes .gtp files) and put them into the template so I can compare. I try and match the basic weathering and what not to the official skins so mine don't look out of place. If I cut sections from an official skin I don't know that they would match properly, there is always some color tone and detail differences.

This is what I really like about the invasion stripes on alot of the official skins, I've always been impressed with that rough brushed effect on the edges and demarcation lines between the white and black. In the past I've cut and pasted and trimmed the provided layers to suit my purpose but properly creating such an effect from scratch is a bit beyond me. I know the official Mosquito template comes with some versions of these layers but they are a little different from whats on the official skins, I thought maybe someone might have those particular layers or maybe the dev or whomever made the official skins might be willing to share them.

a little request…

I know it’s a lot of work, but is it possible to add in all the template of planes used by the RAF, the pattern A “AND” the pattern B, (like Taurus released it for the Hurricane)

it will be a great help to create skins and an incredibly higher level of realism… ?

Bf-109 E-7 / Arte de 1CGS-ICDP / Preparado por ICDP / Resolución 4K (agregado el 17/02/21) FAIL LINK

Posted

Going to start doing some skinning again for the first time in many years & I came to grab the templates and as mentioned, a lot of links are not working currently. FWIW they are as follows:

IL-2 Mod. 42
IL-2 Mod. 41
Bf-109 E-7
Bf-110 E-2
P-40 E-1
IL-2 Mod. 43
P-39 L-1
A-20B
Bf-110 G-2
Bf-109 G-6
Hurricane Mk.II
Su-152
Ferdinand
SPAD 13
Fokker Dr.1
Fokker D.VII
Fokker D.VIIF

Ironic that all the Sturmovik ones are down. ;) Regardless I grabbed the Ferdinand one posted above (thanks Julian!) and if anyone else wants to share any of the rest of the list, don't be shy... especially the P39, P40, A20, G-6, Hurricane & Spad13.

I was curious and tried to down those listed above. The browser responded with a "cannot download securely message" or similar.  I notice the URLs had http:// and not https://.

You can copy the link, paste it into the browser, then change http:// to https://

example:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/sewvi79q68b1guq/Bf109-E7_Public.zip/file    this works

Of course, the best fix would be to update the links.

Hey, is it possible to get the .psd file for V_FD7F_J5_Standard from the Flying Circus Vol. 1?

Also, the Fokker D7, D7F and Dr1 links don't download. The Pfalz, Albatros and Halberstadt files download just fine.

Unless am missing something I believe that is custom skin and you would just have to ask your own Rumey for the PSD.

S!,

Can we please get an approximate date for the Churchill & Stug III template release? There are so many cool camouflages associated with the Stug III that I'd like to take a crack at it with Photoshop.

Thanks,

HB

Hello @Tempus
Links that don't work are fixed by copying the link from the skin and adding an "s" to the Http
Works.

Steady on my friend. What's important to some right now isn't necessarily someone else's priority.
