Danziger Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I have wanted one of these for years upon years. It's a Fender custom shop 1969 NOS Stratocaster. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and love the early stuff. This is the model of Strat that David was using from the More album up to the Atom Heart Mother US tour where it was stolen and he got his iconic Black Strat (also a 69). 10 3 3

Soarfeat Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Congrats on the guitar Borys ! 60's were a good decade for guitars, I have a 1968 D18 Martin ( acoustic) and an inexpensive Hohner classical ( nylon strings for my more dissonant musical creations ) Enjoy your musical journey with that guitar !!! 1

I've been a huge Floyd fan since the 70's. Saw them three times in Montreal and Roger waters once as well. Far and away my favorite music. 1
Danziger Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 I love it. It plays buttery smooth and the pickups are my favourite Strat pickups. IF Gibson ever pulls their head out, I want to order a 70s Flying V. I'm also a big early Scorpions fan.

And unfortunately I think you'll be waiting a while for Gibson to sort themselves out... 1
BOO Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I hate you all!! - this thread has given me GAS (Gear Acquirement Syndrome) again. Started looking about and, after decades of saying "no" I see Gibson have finally produced a left handed Explorer. Dammit!! I NEED that in my life even though id never have the balls to wear it in public!!

My Fender Stratocaster build 1973 ,pickups are a 1980 bill lawrence L90XL in the Bridge Position and Fender Tex Mex in the middle and neck Position, and a rockinger true tune Tremolo, before Floyd Rose was on market i got it 1982 from my friend wolf Hoffmann of ACCEPT may be you know the band, we are from the same hometown Solingen Germany

And that's cool, yes I know of Accept, class. I think Strats are a bit like Spitfires... elegant, good-looking, curved and streamlined and they always look like they're going fast. And you can use them for whatever role you need and they'll always be able to handle it. Blues, rock, alternative, pop, country, metal; interceptor, fighter, reconnaissance, ground-attack, carrier operations...

I still have the Balls to the wall album. Love my a Fender Plus from the 90's, still has the original lace pickups in her, need to service one of the tone pots tho, bit scratchy. Nice guitars here, thanks all for the view all.
SYN_Ricky Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Very nice Strat there BorysVorobyov , I love the big '70s headstocks, and the white colour with rosewood fingerboard really looks gorgeous! My two Strats are both '90s models of the Plus series, with stock Lace Sensor pickups. The Gold ones on the Plus really give more of a classic Start tone, while the Blue, Silver and Dual Red in the Ultra let you dial an amazing range of tones, from punchy hot humbucker to a Telecaster style twang and more modern Strat sounds. These two guitars I really keepers for me, I tried and have owned / still own other models, but a Strat is where I really feel home. 2
klauswoolhouse Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Those 60s Stratocasters are just the best
Sevastiian Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Sorry for disturbing an old thread, but what’s the best place you can recommend finding old electric and acoustic guitars? The new ones are pretty pricy, and I thought buying a used one could be a smart way to get a better-quality instrument for less money. I will give it a nice makeover and install the new kills-switches I just got from ironageaccessories.com, and it will look just as if it was a new one. But the ones I keep seeing on the internet are either too old or too expensive. I’m looking for something in the $300 range. Is it realistic to find anything for this money?
