[MOD]Custom biographies for career mode

This simple mod will help you create custom bios for your pilots.

 

The example bios ("bio.id=101013.locale=eng.txt" and "bio.id=201013.locale=eng.txt") contains some instructions to help you understand the formatting.

To add/remove/modify bios from the list, edit the "bioinfo.locale" file relevant to your language (for instance, "bioinfo.locale=fra.txt" if your game is in french).

 

I think the general format of the files is easy enough to understand, but I will update this post with better instructions if necessary.

Great stuff!   I’ve got a number of bios completed and several others on the go too and it would be great to add them to the game.  I also wouldn’t mind editing a few of the existing ones so they don’t read as a wall of text.

There's also at least one German bio with the player's age being stated as 15 years old on a certain date which requires the player to calculate the proper birth year of the pilot to fit the narrative - if it can't be made in to a variable dependent on the birth year the player picks, it shouldn't be there.

 

Over all, the bios are inconsistent in format/style and it's a bit of a bummer.

Haha thats a simple trick from the RoF days.

But here another question how to change the zombie pilots picture in career mode, as it seems its being stored in parts like hair/ears/eyes etc.

The biography photos are a proprietary technology that randomly assembles the faces from a variety of components: head, eyes, nose, mouth, hair, mustache, etc., just like a Mr. Potatohead.

Photoshop a German cross on that spud and I'm sure somebody will demand it should be added as a Collector Plane.
