SILVER BULLETS - SP scripted campaign [P-39]

Announcing the next non-historical campaign I've been working on.

So far i have planned 13 missions, with a variety of missions (fighter sweep, escort, light ground attack, recon, etc.).

 

It won't be out until after the 3.001 patch. I will have to test the campaign with the actual plane (currently using the Yak1 as a placeholder).

No, definitely not historical.

I'll try to reflect the frontline changes as historically as possible but that's about it.

Yes, i will finally be able to start testing with the actual plane instead.

I'm far from finished and I just started a more time consuming job last week, so the campaign won't be out for a wile. I do have the next entire weekend for myself but I might just work on fixing some AI behavior issues that the previous patch introduced in my Butcher campaign.

I'm also reading the Osprey book about the Kuban offensive and I was hoping to include some somewhat historical missions in the mix.

Yes, I meant to post an update last week but I've been very busy.

 

This campaign has been on pause for a couple of months for a few reasons:

• I got a new job and the commute alone eats up most of my free time. I dont even have the energy to fly, let alone build and test a campaign.
• Wife got very sick (she is ok now) and that took all the remaining time.
• After reading more about Kuban (the Kuban and Caucasus books by Osprey) I realized all the previous work I had done was waaay off from historical events and many missions would have to be adjusted. This is not meant to be a historical campaign but the whole frontlines and attack vectors were just plain wrong.

Having said that, I do hope to work on it once I get back up on my feet. 

 

 

On a side note, I've seen very little in terms of metallic skins for the new planes. Has nobody figured out how to do them?

Been 5 years so probably not going to happen ? p-39 campaign seems high on many peoples list and an interesting plane. Hope someone makes it happen one day ?

If there was a shadow of a doubt that the campaign is not being developed, I can confirm that it isn't.

 

The plane was not fun for me and the missions were meh. It was not meant to be.

I thought that since 2018 you had decided to hide in an atomic shelter without any contact from the outer world, so that you can concentrate in creating the ULTIMATE PERFECT P-39 AIRACOBRA KUBAN CAMPAIGN !!!!!

But it would still be better than all of the other P-39 campaigns we've got!  Something is always better than nothing! ?
