SJ_Butcher Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Should be nice If the game would have a proper manual per plane of how to fly it properly, Propeller settings, RPMs, Mixture at certain altitude, Supercharger instead have videos arround the web of how to fly it, nothing oficial...A chart per plane with all the basic and more material asociated by aircraft, like a hall of fame of every aircraft in game, we don't have a lot of aircrafts right now, so shouldn't be hard to attach or build the documentation instead leaving the players on their own. I wanted to fly the yak1 (focke wulf pilot to death) but I dont understand how to set up a lot of things manually because I dont find the info more than videos that I dont understand at all(not navie english speaker) with weard accent...
rolikiraly Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Did you check the 'Specification' tab on the mission briefing screen? That provides performance figures, technical data, and, if you scroll down all the way to the bottom, some useful tips on the selected aircraft. By the way these are all posted in this section of the forum, in a sticky thread called 'Aircraft Flight and Technical Specifications and Operational Details'. Also the first 3 Youtube search results for 'il-2 bos yak-1' are very helpful, maybe the accent makes it hard to understand for you, but they give nice details, even if you only get half the information from them (and there are english-labelled cockpits in them, etc.) All the above was enough for me to get started.
SCG_motoadve Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Those specification tabs are useful but dont give you tips on the best tactics to employ when in combat or to limp back to base with a damaged engine. For example the 109 if damaged, helps to put prop pitch on manual, lower the rpms and power and most of the time you can make it back If you leave on auto pitch engine will not last too long.
TP_Jacko Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Hello SJ_Butcher I think its all down to dev resources do we want to develop the game in general or pay $40+ per aircraft to include a comprehensive manual like DCS. If you are not in a Squad its worth joining one there is a lot of experienced filers with years of experience Tangmere Pilots as an example Also the community here has some great work done on operating information so don't discredit their efforts too quickly If you are looking for sources of info I think a good reference for you is https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/30773-bom-cockpits-and-operation-quick-guide/ by SYN_Requiem https://www.youtube.com/c/TheAirCombatTutorialLibrary?gvnc=1 Specifically for the Yak 1 If you want it in Spanish that's another question

I know a lot about tactics, but I forget how to manage some planes after 7 years without playing IL-2, I stoped playing 1946 when I realized the game was outdated and not fun anymore. Thank you all for the answers

That type of knowledge comes from experience. Whether others share that experience with you, or you learn it yourself. It's impossible to create a manual with every possible situation and variable described. That type of in-depth knowledge would literally take a school class environment to teach to new students. You can only expect so much before you go out there and earn your wings for yourself. This is what forums and youtube are for. To share knowledge, maneuvers, and tricks with each other. =OPFR=ColNinny Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Hi Butcher- My non-combat tutorials are specific to the Bf-109. You may find some value in them. Try this one: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=UIiYzkEEE0g Slow Flight - the silent killer Cheers,
