F-Dog Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Imagine you've only played your favourite Aircraft flying game with a mouse and keyboard and then one day you buy yourself a Joystick, you plug it in and play your game and suddenly it no longer feels like just a computer game, it feels like a Flight Simulation. The movement of the aircraft feels more natural, the emersion is far greater and you think to yourself "this is how it was meant to be played". There's no way your going back to Mouse and Keyboard. That's how I feel about playing flight sims in VR.... I just can't bring myself to play CLOD until it's implemented Edited February 17, 2020 by F-Dog 1 5
OBT-Lionel Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 You just have to wait a little bit before they implant it. ?

I've been looking at the news updates longingly for months...……… we're happily enjoying BOS in VR, eagerly awaiting the ability to fly from the town I live in and across the channel. 1
Rei-sen Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I hope everything will go as planned and we'll get VR support after the 5.0 is released. But still, even without it I really enjoy this sim! Can't wait for the Tobruk expansion. I like the FM and DM more in CloD than in.. other sims. Feels way more realistic and close to real life videos. And performance with all the settings maxed out is super smooth. Future is bright for this sim, it has a tremendous potential. I wish Team Fusion a great success and hope that we'll enjoy various theaters and aircraft in this awesome sim. 3
phillabust Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 didn't they quote "4-6 months" over 2 years ago? I just installed cLod blitz expecting it to already have vr support. it was a quick install, it'll be a quicker uninstall. No offense to the devs, i want to play cLod quite badly, but not badly enough to do it on a 2D monitor. Hoping for VR support soon! 1 2
343KKT_Kintaro Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) IL2CoD is a too good WWII air combat simulator to drop it only because of a lack of VR compatibility. I give an entire year to Team Fusion Simulations for them to make CoD VR compatible. If within one year they do not manage to obtain a VR-compatible CoD patch... then I'll play again my favourite WWII flight simulator for one more year on a 2D monitor, thus giving TFS a second chance. If after that second year is gone there's not yet VR compatibility in CoD, then I'll play the game on my 2D monitor for ten more years. I'll purchase a VR device when that game will be VR-compatible, not before, and if the VR compatibility never happens, I won't worry at all. What makes this game so great is not bound to the VR experience. IL2CoD pushes the envelope in the domain that really matters to me: in the domain of serious hardcore simulation. And this is what fascinates me with IL2CoD, more than any other game that would be VR-compatible but not as good in the domain of simulated flight & combat realism. Some flight sims have VR as an option. I am not aware of any that list VR as a requirement. I doubt VR would be a requirement if it ultimately be implemented in Blitz/DWT so everyone would probably be able to carry on as usual.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Dagwoodyt, I was responding to the simmers who say they definitely dropped IL2CoD because of the lack of VR.

They are entitled to their point of view just as you are entitled to yours. My position is that options are good. Currently I have the option of flying the MC.202 in 2D or in VR. The cockpit in VR is gorgeous in an Index. In addition, I can appreciate the associated view restrictions. I would love to have the same option in a Martlet, but I currently do not. No one that I know of is forced to buy a VR HMD if they don't care to have the VR experience. I don't see an argument that is winnable either way. I just see incompatible points of view and I don't know how it is fruitful to prolong a thread that simply reiterates incompatible fixed points of view.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 This is exactly what I was doing myself: sharing my opinion. Regards. 1
Blitzen Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I'd pay for it! It is wonderful in Great Battles & the new generation of Headsets & graphics cards promise to make it even better.Flying over the still wonderfully modelled Britain map in the Bf-108 would be a treat! 2
