Apologies for the poor video quality. The YouTube compression algorithm doesn't work well with Welsh mist, apparently.

You need to upload in 1440p or higher, it forces YouTube to use a different codec, vp09, as opposed to the basic avc1 your video is using, makes a huge difference to video quality.

Yeah, thanks for that. I did a bit of Googling after I uploaded the video, and came to the same conclusion. Micro$oft has removed their old video editor from Win 10, and the only free option they offer is Clipchamp - except that you need to pay for an upgrade to create video larger than 1080p. There seem to be plenty of alternate free video editors about, so I just need to find one that suits me.

If your happy about not really editing the video footage other than cropping and splicing, use Avidemux, That way the video to be uploaded doesn't get compressed and run through another codec until youtube from when it was ripped by shadowplay or whatever you use to rip. I've used it for a couple of years now.

Thanks, that's useful, though I'll probably need something with a bit more functionality too: I don't do a lot of editing, but it's nice to be able to add titles/subtitles etc sometimes.

Those shots are amazing. I've been playing the Arma series since the original Flashpoint and never got it looking like that. Is it hardware or mods or post processing?
