No_85_Gramps Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 @coconut Maybe an answer to the disappearing AI spawns...
AKA_Scorp Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) Anyone else noticing disappearing AI? We started noticing to tonight Friday Dec 7 on our campaign server. Edited December 8, 2018 by AKA_Scorp

I was a bit surprised tonight of how much damage parked PE-2 can take from MK108, I take you haven't touched any settings and this new feature is because of new patch?
coconut Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 The static planes have a different DM I think. I made them hard enough that you need a couple well placed salvos of cannon. I haven’t tried with the mk 108
No.85_Camm Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Hi Coconut. At approx. 05.00 (GMT), I flew two missions on the Kuban map (Normal Server), destroying 4 torpedo boats, 2 Cargo ships and 2 warehouses. The missions do not show up at all so obviously I was not credited with the kills. This was before the map changed to the current one. Is there a reason for this?
J2_Jakob Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Hello Coconut, just a short question - if I bomb anything (a Destroyer in my case) and it is not destroyed immediately, I need to be in target's proximity (rendering bubble) when it's destroyed to be credited with the kill, correct? Example: 1) dropped 500kg on Destroyer 2) flew around for ~25 minutes 3) left the area to re-arm, destroyer blows up 3 minutes later 4) in-game: 1 ship kill for me | server stats: shows only damage, no kill
coconut Posted December 10, 2018 Author Posted December 10, 2018 No, I don’t think so. Note that I’m not involved in the stats system.
LFDM-Carleo Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 il2_stats are not provided by COCONUT. The stats system is an =FB=VAAL production, if you look at the FAQ, you will find answer about difference between IG results and stats results

NN_Razor Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Hi, there's no stats about my two last fly yesterday evening. Server is out?
No_85_Gramps Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Both Coconut servers down for updates. Should be back up later today according to discord post.
J2_Trupobaw Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Earlier today, I was trying to strafe the AAA trucks escorting enemy tank convoy (in Ju-87 with machine gun pods). I got them just as they closed to end of their route, convoy stopped, trucks opened fire at me, I strafed a truck... nothing happened. About half a minute later, everyones chat was flooded with lots of "Outdated data hit received: J2_Trupobaw -> coconut-dserver2 5.7s" "Outdated data hit received: J2_Trupobaw -> coconut-dserver2 5.7s" "Outdated data hit received: J2_Trupobaw -> coconut-dserver2 5.7s" "Outdated data hit received: J2_Trupobaw -> coconut-dserver2 5.7s" "Outdated data hit received: J2_Trupobaw -> coconut-dserver2 5.7s" I kept strafing the trucks (which stopped firing) and got more these messages. After few minutes, I got kill credit for one of trucks I strafed, the tanks disappeared, and the trucks I strafed just stayed where I attacked them. Not sure if convoy reached destination and I attacked it as it was despawning, or firing 8 machineguns at one truck caused to much traffic between me and server, but something went wrong :).
coconut Posted December 16, 2018 Author Posted December 16, 2018 I'm not sure how to interpret these messages, but it seems your hit data took unusually long to reach the server, but not in the order of minutes, as you experienced. I read earlier that people with this kind of issue should contact the devs. They put this message to help debug the issue in the game. I think people were supposed to contact @Gavrick but I'm not sure any more if that's the right dev to contact.

You could send PM to Airahusky, with info about: You can help us speed up the solution of this problem by sending me a personal message with a description: What happened on the map when the message appeared? Map title and server? How many people were on the server? Best regards, Airahusky 1
Black-Witch Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Hi Coconut, Weird thing happened last night to both me and my wingman when flying blue. In our first sortie we fought with a pair of P-40's, AI Patrol, no problem. 2nd sortie neither of our guns would fire!? There's a Human flown Mig-3 that survived when it shouldn't have! We were both in 109F-4's IIRC, same "loadout" as the first sortie, so we definitely didn't click the "no ammo" option. We have noticed this on another server, WOL, which we don't use anymore. Cheers Black-Witch
coconut Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 Do you know if ground battles were going on then?

I myself had a strange encounter with mysterious MIG-3, who suddenly appeared behind me but did not shoot although being extremely close. I had gunpods and with sheer luck got behind him after scissors but I couldn't hit him at all! He was pretty much running away in straight line and with pods even my crappy shooting usually gets results. I made 4-5 burst and was out of ammo but my outer ammo counters were full?!? My pc locked up soon after that and I was was forced to end program, later when checking the sortie log to my great surprise I did not have one single hit to enemy ? It might be he was having the same problem with his jammed guns because he never fired after attacking.
7./SchG2_Willi Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Hello coconut a question, will you get player tanks back? I like to drive tanks in your Kampange. S!
coconut Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 At some point yes, but I think more work has to go into them before they become usable. There are also some problems with server performance at the moment.

Yesterday, exactly the same thing happened to me. I was flying Bf109-F4, found an AI patrol, decided to engage it, but my guns didn't fire. I'm 100% sure I didn't have the "no ammo" loadout either. I think there WAS a ground battle going on, although I'm not 100% sure with that.

Black-Bart Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Hi Coconut, have you changed the way aircraft are allocated to players as it seemed the only option to fly(fighters) in the present map on the LW side were E-7's and 202's. Even at the Kubinke base which is in bold cap's, which normally ment that any aircraft is available?

Okay, yesterday I noticed the default loadout was indeed 'empty'! Maybe it was an error on user part after all. I double checked the loadout after an unsuccessfull mission (guns not firining), made sure to load ammunition and all was well and good. I wasn't used to check the ammo loadout, everytime I took the Bf109 I admit I've only checked for mods (removed headrest) as always, and once it was checked, I proceeded to take-off. Now I will take care and check the ammo too, not a big deal. o7

Even at the Kubinke base which is in bold cap's, which normally ment that any aircraft is available? I have put additional restrictions on the newest planes in the Moscow planesets. In order to take the Bf109-F2, Bf109-F4, Mig-3 and P-40, you need a so called "luxury point", in addition to the fighter spawn point. Unlike fighter spawn points, luxury points are not replenished automatically. You have two at the campaign start, and you can earn an additional one for every 3 plane kills (AI or player, but not static parked planes). The additional luxury points (called "luxury bonus") are reset whenever you land in non-friendly territory or get your plane 100% damaged, but only if flying a fighter. The amount of luxury points (base and bonus combined) is shown after the fighter spawns in the chat. "F:5+2.7" for instance means 5 fighters and 2.7 luxury points. The reason for this somewhat complicated system is to encourage people to fly some of the BoM planes (e7 and Mc202), especially for ground attacks, and keep the F4 for the "aces" performing CAP, escorts, free hunts and interceptions. I have also split the Moscow planeset in two. The early one, used for the end-of-summer mission, omits the Bf109-F4 and the P-40. The late one, used in the currently going winter mission has them, but as luxury planes. To help understand why some kind of restrictions had to be put in place, here is the stats from the previous campaign: Axis plane, TAK, LND, DMG, RAT bf109e7, 16, 11, 1.0, 68.8 bf109f2, 33, 16, 0.0, 48.5 bf109f4, 357, 213, 1.9, 59.7 mc202, 19, 9, 0.0, 47.4 bf110e, 49, 27, 0.7, 55.1 ju88, 34, 23, 0.8, 67.6 ju52, 8, 7, 0.1, 87.5 ju87, 42, 24, 0.4, 57.1 he111h6, 25, 9, 2.3, 36.0 total for Axis, 583, 343, 7.2, 58.8 airfield: 27.1 convoy: 64.0 production: 63.8 supplies: 48.4 tank: 177.8 Allies plane, TAK, LND, DMG, RAT i16, 53, 22, 14.3, 41.5 il2mod41, 71, 33, 14.6, 46.5 mig3, 93, 39, 16.1, 41.9 p40, 79, 35, 0.0, 44.3 pe2s35, 85, 47, 0.9, 55.3 total for Allies, 381, 177, 45.8, 46.5 airfield: 35.4 convoy: 194.0 production: 221.2 supplies: 54.5 tank: 214.3 TAK is take-offs, LND is landings, DMG is static planes of that kind straffed, RAT is the % of landings w.r.t. take-offs. Then comes the amount of damage objects (damage received). Note how the flights in the Bf109-F4 alone almost match the entirety of the Russian flights.
Black-Bart Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Hi Coconut many thanks for the explanation. Are you planning to run this mechanic on the other planesets on your server in the future?
No.85_Camm Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Coconut, This morning there were two pilots (Xphyle and potatohog41) that flew 15 sorties between them and lost 14 aircraft (plus munitions) between them. We haven't got much munitions (on the allied side) as it is.....but for these 'pilots' to throw away the assets ruins the whole scenario. Is there any way they can be stopped?
LP1888 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Love the server coconut is there a way to make a small donation? Cheers LP

LeLv30_Redwing- Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Question for Coconut; not sure how the logic works regarding badly damaged planes crash landing near their own AF but if there is a radius around the airfield, where you get "landed" status even if you are shot to pieces, could it be smaller? Asking for a friend who has lost multiple kills rewarded by game (true story).
coconut Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 The landed status as shown in the game is out of my control. For the campaign's purposes, landings within 3km of the spawn point are considered landings at airfields.
LeLv30_Redwing- Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 So... I just manage to crash-land within 3km of airfield and even if the game rewards the kill to somebody, my campaign status is landed and he is denied of the kill? Does damage play any part in this decision or is it simple "pilot alive, great landing"? I'm just trying to figure out if to keep shooting (at obvious AI) near the airfields when enemy is trying to crash-land.
coconut Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 If the game rewards the kill, I think this also generates a plane kill entry in the log, which grants a reward for damaging all the remaining health of the crash-landed plane to the attacker plane. So in other words, the enemy is not denied the kill. You are also granted a landing, but you'll effectively only get what's left of the health of the plane, which would be 0.0. The campaign even accounts for kills or damage inflicted after the "landed" log, so you should not be able to escape cheaply. The messages you see in the log ("XXX is back at YYY") are generated when players land, so they don't account for damage after touching the ground. But the reward and plane grants are based on plane status when flights are ended, and include damages after landing.
wellenbrecher Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) Just in case the settings are as harsh as they appeared to be, during a sortie half an hour ago or so a friend named Lowe was the reargunner for Leifr, another friend, and apparently hit his own plane extensively while trying to fend off a Red pilot. He apparently managed to get over the friendly fire limit and got banned for one hour. The "banned for 1 hour" message then kept popping up again and again for what felt like 15 minutes? Now I dunno if that means he's been banned for a casual few hundred hours or if it's just a confirmation thing and it is 1 hour total, but I wanted to vouch for the guy as he made a silly mistake and we all had a good laugh about it (especially the endless "was banned for 1 hour" pop ups if I'm honest). The rest of us can corroborate if needed I am sure. Edited January 6, 2019 by wellenbrecher
KG_S_Kalle_Kalutz82 Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 @ above Sorry for my stunt, which totally gone wrong at you ju88 parking guys last sunday ? Aaaaanyyywaayyy..... For the fans of explosions and hammering targets with big guns:
wtornado Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Trying to fly on the Coconut expert today I tried to use a HE-111 to bomb at 3000-3500m but with no navigation plane on map(serving as navigator) you cannot find any landmarks to identify you position nor can you find your or any target for that matter with the cloud cover. Should be Med Bombers just be grounded and just put in 110's and fighters when there is high cloud concentration? Your thoughts on this.
