Jade_Monkey Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Great choice! Im a big fan of ground attack. Also great tribute to the game's namesake.

1/JSpan_Wind75 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) @BlackSix EDITED IN ENGLISH Good news and very interesting. Later on, will there be a historic campaign for those of us who fly in the Luftwaffe? And the AI (Artificial Intelligence) will have a better obedience in the orders that are given to him to be able to fulfill the missions of the "Mode Career" in the delivery of Kuban? I've already made Luftwaffe campaign - Ten Days of Autumn for BOM and I plan to do one more in the future. I can't answer about the improvement of AI. 2
Ribbon Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 When I started to make this campaign, the attack planes couldn't attack the targets among the hills now it fixed. But I didn't try to set targets among the high mountains. The answer is yes to both questions Great news! That was my question in fact, AI ability to fight between hills! Now only thing left is hope that next update will be as planned at the end of the month.
Freycinet Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Blacksix, thank you for this update and for your work! - Fascinating insight into your painstaking historical research. Programming and modelling just create the skeleton of a flight sim. You are putting flesh on the bones and breathing life into it! 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Thanks Black Six for a wonderful update. I'm really excited about your next campaign and have thoroughly enjoyed the previous two. I look forward to this and whatever else you cook up in the future!
A-E-Hartmann Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Please BlackSix, the campaign goes from what date to what date?

A-E-Hartmann Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) Thanks you . About 7 months of campaign.Excellent. Edited December 1, 2017 by A-E-Hartmann
Beazil Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I suppose an il2 product really ought to have a good il2 campaign. So many positive game changers in this upcoming release. So many things to look forward to.
1CGS BlackSix Posted December 1, 2017 Author 1CGS Posted December 1, 2017 Thanks you . About 7 months of campaign.Excellent. Since the 47th ShAP was called back from the frontline for reorganization in June 1943 and returned only on September 23rd, I was able to skip the mostly uneventful and calm time during the Summer. Therefore you'll participate in the most fierce fighting during Spring and in the final liberation of Taman peninsula during Autumn 1943, which wasn't a cakewalk for the Red Army at all because of the desperate resistance of the enemy. There are 15 missions, as usual in our scripted campaigns. 3

TG-55Panthercules Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Excellent news. Really looking forward to the new career mode, but a well-constructed scripted campaign is an extra treat and should be a great way to usher in the whole Kuban experience. My "personal" Russian squadron for BoX (GVMF-55) is a fictional naval unit, so I love it that you'll be centering this campaign around a unit with an anti-shipping role. Thanks for all your incredible work!
Ceowulf Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Like playing a documentary. Your work really adds a lot of fun and richness to this sim, Black Six. (And hopefully makes some income for the team!) Ceowulf<><
Jade_Monkey Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Looking forward to B6 scripted campaign. Regarding the non-scripted campaign, since i never played ROF style campaign I was just wondering: How different are the missions themselves from the current campaign? I get the whole point of context, newspapers, medals and squadrons. But once you fire up the missions, are they similar to the current randomized missions?

Sorry, I make scripted campaigns I can't answer about career mode. I've only written some texts for that mode. 1

Lusekofte Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Campaign and IL 2 always get my attention. Superb DD today, looking forward to this
FlyingNutcase Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 BlackSix, your dedication to authenticity is appreciated. And like others have mentioned, to me an IL2 campaign in a sweet choice, especially being able to include anti-shipping missions. 1
TP_Silk Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I was reading somewhere that although both sides had Anti-shipping capable aircraft, in most instances they were used far more in ground strike missions as neither side put much of a priority on anti-shipping air patrols in the Black Sea region during the period that BoK covers. I'm not saying that there were no anti-shipping patrols or strikes, merely that they were apparently not a priority for either the Soviets or the Germans.
A-E-Hartmann Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 There are 15 missions, as usual in our scripted campaigns. Thank you for these clarifications. Looking forward to discover them.
senseispcc Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Yes, the campaign is 7 months long but not much movement happened once the front stabilized after Stalingrad and the push to Karkov/Orel/Kursk, region where the main forces of the two sides where concentrated. And not only land forces but air forces also, Kursk campaign did absorb most of the forces of both side. The Soviet side could launch only probes and an amphibious/parachute assault along the sea that resulted into a attrition battle at the "little-land". This is an interesting campaign because of the equality of the two sides and maybe also the fact that until the near end not much ground movement where made. Nearly a WW1 situation. I must thank the developers team for all this great and good news, the campaigns are better and better, thank YOU.
Missionbug Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Any campaign from 'Alexander 'BlackSix' Timoshkov, is always welcome, the community should appreciate this even more though as it gives the mud movers a little love. Thank you very much, really appreciated. Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 No, I didn't Then I fear it is incumbent upon us to name the campaign until then. I'll get the ball rolling: Revenge of the Sturmovik! Taran 2: Fly Harder. If we come up with enough bad titles, they're bound to cave in and reveal the real name. 3
blitze Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Also a note about use of torpedoes in the Black Sea, it was not effective as the ships were shallow keel giving rise to torpedoes running harmlessly underneath the ships. The Soviets developed Skip Bombing tactics to deal with shipping instead where Il2 would come in at alt, dive down to the deck at speed and release the bomb at low level to skip it into the side of the ship. Luftwaffe would either Dive bomb from high with Stukas or skip similarly with Jabo Fighter types.
Feathered_IV Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Then I fear it is incumbent upon us to name the campaign until then. I'll get the ball rolling: Revenge of the Sturmovik! Taran 2: Fly Harder. If we come up with enough bad titles, they're bound to cave in and reveal the real name. Good idea! How about: The Adventures of Dick Sturmovik - Smoke in the Kuban 1
Krab Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Great choice, BlackSix. You made my Friday! Really looking forward to this one.

Crockett Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 It's obvious that BlackSix has a passion for the history of this campaign and in sticking to that history -- which makes this sim all the more interesting -- and us simmers all the more likely to support it! Thank you Alexander! Crockett

Blitzen Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 At the present time we can't fly multiple planes over the mountain section of the Kuban map in "Quick Missions" .Will the new campaign(s) coming up have mulitple plane missions/combat over these sections of the map?
