I had this thought yesterday haha, If I ever come into a stupid amount of money I would definitely do this too

Yeah but the way the Pound is going you will soon need to win a Billion quid to fund it!

Might be like an Austin Powers' sketch!

Only kidding!

I got the impression that we're moving away from bombers, and the future of the sim lies with fighters and fighter-bombers only.  At least for the next couple of years.

Well I just filled from empty my Forester today and it cost me $50. I guess with the exchange rate that is about 28 quid. Therefore I guess you get more for your pounds so I will get back in my box.

These 'I want a heavy bomber' threads keep popping up... hasn't Jason said on numerous occasions that it's just not going to happen?

its the old 'if you don't ask, you don't get'. Besides, we've seen the devs support community requests eg. with the JU52. I wonder how did 1C do with this? ie. did they make any $$ on it after all the 'i want this a/c so bad' posts?

if they are thinking of doing some multi engine a/c as say premium, I'd prefer they start with twins like the B25, B26, Mosquito, etc instead. THEN if time/$$ permits, think about a bigger a/c like the '17 or '24.

To be fair there have been other "never going to happen"s that have happened. You never know what kind of top secret things these guys work on.

You might want to check on the price of fuel in the UK, Avg  1 pound 20 pence per litre for the low octane entry level Cr@p. To fill your Forester would be 72 pounds or 125 Aussie Dollars after exchange, so $50 was a bargain. I'll take our Aussie cost of living any day. :)

Med theatre..with B17 and B24 taking off from Africa.

Large part of sea and little of terrain (Italy)...of course could be nice add part of Germany in the North.

And the possibility to add new planes like MC 205,Re 2002/2005,G55..

Putting a couple of 17's / 24's or Lancs in the air is one thing... putting a shed load of those beasts (if you want to represent a historical setting and not just a token offering) is entirely another matter.

It has already been explained (by Jason I think) that the technical requirements and strain it would put on even our pc's to date would not be possible.

You guys with regard to multicrew aircraft in the foreseeable future - some of you are taking your eye off the ball a little bit.

B-25...eventually...with luck.

Catalina

Betty (will be needed for island maps even if Midway remains the first release)

B-26 in theory depending on how things shake out.

That's my educated prediction, rather than wild wishmaking that flies in the face of both developer statements and stated plan.

Writing is on the wall there IMO.

Don't expect a B-17 ever unless something radically changes.

and go for a kickstarter?

Star Citizen is raising the bar on crowdfunding. We are talking about different genres and games, but they could sell special modules for premium price plus the regular backer. They could initially test with one aircraft, B-17 in my opinion, and if it works out, they can change the game on simulators and in a few years have much more than we have now and much more cash in house.

Since they have a reputation to deliver the projects on time (they seem to have a good work ethics), it could work.
