FM are like 90% final. Unfortunatelly that's pretty much all that we have with such high level of readyness :)

Guys, I'm sincerely sorry about the wrong date thing. Take this fresh-stolen screenshot as a symbol of my apologies

I'm having so much fun, its addictive trying to hit any tank in the columns ( i need a lot of of practice). loving the explosion effects when you look back to see if you hit anything.

Today we left home and flew 1400kms to our daughters place for Xmas.

Today RoF released an update with the 2 Strutters

Today BoS released the next iteration with bombs and rockets

Today I am 1400kms from my PC

Enjoy you lucky buggers, I look forward to some screen Shots and videos.

The PC would have been my carry-on. ;)

Great news on the development front, and I appreciate the road-map. Speaking of maps, I look forward to the Stalingrad one and will be flying north south east and west on that sucker.

Have a good X-Mas.

I seem to be stuck in an endless loop during the checksum part of the update.

Shows total 3319, as it gets to there a small black screen flashes then it starts the checksum all over again - over and over and over.

I had to cancel out of that.

Any ideas?

It is not working for me.

Tried uninstalling, re-downloaded and clean install, still the above keeps happening.

Log file below:

I also posted in the bugs forum under installation issues.

Hope someone can offer help on this one:

Don, check the Early Access Discussion forum. "Can't update - Read this!"

For the past two updates I've had to do Step 1. Which unfortunately resets my graphics and other settings. Luckily though not the control assignments.

Yes just saw it thank you Simon,

Running on no sleep last night, going to have to get some rest for a bit first then I will check into trying these out, probably later this afternoon.

I will let y'all know how it works out when I do.

Thanks again,

Apparently drop bombs in control assignment is double duty. It fires the rockets as there is no separate control assignment to fire rockets currently.

And if, as in my definition, FM includes engine management,

The dev team might have a different definition of FM. It might only relate to the structure of it that creates the FM globally but not related to each plane and it probably doesn't include the engine management because in RoF's development the engine module was separated out from the environment module in their discussion of how everything comes together.

Perhaps it would be more sensible to find out the dev's definition of FM than to immediately jump to conclusions.

I don't want to be in that KV if that's a Bf 109 coming hot on his 4 o'clock.

I'm not sure what happened here. I went on a pass on one of the tanks, fired off a rocket and pulled up just skimming a tree - so I'm guessing my tail hit the tree. I lost control and looked back to see my tail falling away - it had stayed attached for a good hundred feet before finally falling off due to stress. You can see it behind my aircraft from the viewpoint of where I must have hit a tree. Second pic shows it from my perspective. Pretty cool DM, not all kills will be direct results of rounds removing parts but from parts falling away after damage and too much stress.

Afaik it's "Sturmovik" Foobar, the Russians adopted the German word "Sturm" into their vocabulary around the time of Peter the Great, he was a big fan of the Prussians and their military iirc :)

Yes the Christmas tree in the hangar is just great and tells us how cool these dev guys are for thinking about this. Happy Christmas everyone.

I know its been a year since the announcement of BoS. My memory is a little foggy, but didn't there used to be a couple of guys around here who assured us this thing would never fly? :P

Great update and cool screenshots.

Has anyone noticed the flags on the airfield? I thought they looked very realistic fluttering in the wind. I was impressed too how the shadow of one flag laid across the next one.

I would like to thank the team for all of their effort. I really love all of the new features. :) I have yet to hit anything, other than snow, with rockets. Using bombs, I did manage to damage a tank and blow up a single truck.  I am going to have a great time playing tomorrow morning. Thanks again.  :salute: MJ

Man, those rockets are wild flyers. They do not go where you point 'm. Had a blast trying to blow up the trucks. Managed to get a few, but you should aim in the general direction and hope for some lucky shots it seems. Great stuff. Going to try the 109 next. Love the flags on the field. I believe that's a very good alternative for windsocks if they were not all present. Already looking forward for the real ground movers. IL2 and Stuka are coming. Those are the planes I really look forward to.

Thanks devs, team, Jason and the lot....

Look at it from the bright side: When you'll be flying and enjoying it, most of us will be sleeping so we'll be jealous of you ! :P

I find the rockets very well modeled and i'm enjoying the "randomness" in attacking ground moving targets with them!

IRL they weren't really famous for their accuracy (even nowadays unguided rockets are more like a lottery :D ).

Well done Devs ;)

EDIT: For best result, try steep dive angles!

Agreed. They've modeled that aspect extremely well. I haven't hit a damn thing yet. Just melted a lot of snow

First flights with BoS for me, after a month of lurking, and I'm impressed.

Several things are yet to be refined, I think, (like AI, controls and force feedback, perhaps) but the overall quality is really great. What I didn't expect was such a good looking graphic going so smooth with my rig! Awesome!

Awesome, Bombs & Rockets!!

I can't wait to try it out.

...BOOOM! How u like dat?
