Will we ever get the ability to host our own missions like in DCS etc?\

Gets very boring with the limited servers and missions out there now.

There is a DServer you can use to host your own server, not exactly easy to get going but have you looked into that? That's what all the servers you see in the MP list are running.

Chapter 11 in the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual gives you the information you need to get a server going.

Id rather start the game,hit multiplayer,host server,have friends join.

Suprised that in this day and age this isnt ingame.

The reason for this is the unique... requirements of the server software. Currently Dserver.exe is single threaded (as far as I can tell) and for the more complex missions you need quite a good/fast single threaded performance to get it working well. so running the multiplayer server component at the same time is a difficult proposition for most computers. maybe if they multithreaded the shit out of the multiplayer server we would get better performance

Not doubt why my 7 or so fellas who play arma3 aren't in this. coop in IL2 was epic.  Im requested a dserver to see what its like.

 

coop + affordable VR + exceptional product + a gaggle of american planes and Id say players and sales go through the roof ...really a perfect storm and timing for this great product.
