6./ZG26_5tuka Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Title says it all. I'm looking for a Ju 87 D Bedienungsvorschrift (instruction manual) ideally for the D-1 or D-3 version. The information I'm most interested in is stall characteristics of the aircraft in different configurations. Any help is highly appreciated!
csThor Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 I've got the D-1 manual but there is little on the stall issue. It basically says the aircraft's stall is gentle and will only cause a dip of the nose after which full control will be reeastablished. The manual also says that a spin is not possible unless the pilot forces the aircraft into one (which is strictly prohibited for aircraft of that weight category).
SpaceNiteGeddy Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Hey!, Try Posting here, they seem to have a D-5 manual, you might be able to get your hands on a D-3. https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/junkers-ju-87-manuals.5504/ Edited August 4, 2017 by SpaceNiteGeddy
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Thx SpaceNiteGeddy although it's a Bordwaffen manual (weapons manual) which I have already checked threw. It seems the basic flight instruction manuals are more scarce and expensive (which explains why peolpe are hesitant to share it) but only an excerpt of said content would satisfy my needs entirely.
JtD Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Manuals contain very limited information about stall, spins and such, and csThor has already summarized them. The aircraft will just lower the nose, because both at idle/flaps down or full throttle/flaps up, only the centre wing section stalls. No yawing, no spinning due to the stall. If you need more info, you'll have to look for test reports, not manuals.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 A flight test report would be fantastic but with regular manuals bein so rarely availabel I doubt I could get my hands on one anytime soon. For the purpose of providing at least some evidence an excerpt of the passage you provided would be excellent so I can forward it to the right people. Either way I'm thankfull for the information provided so far confirming that there haven't been significant differences in stall characteristics of the B and D version.
csThor Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 See attachment ... These are the relevant excerpts from the manual.
