Foobar Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I am very pleased with FPS performance. In cockpit I get constant 40 FPS or more even with my old GTX 560 TI. Bravo!

Same here, though i ordered a 760 4GB for increasing framerates on the sim that must not be compared for the next time a 560 Ti 2GB seems to be totally sufficient. Best, Allons!
=SwiAiF=Maverick85 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I patched my game yesterday. All went as usual, but I noticed it seemed a little sluggish while playing. Then it appeared the anti-aliasing wasn't working as it had. I messed around last night for several hours tweaking settings, both in game and the Nvidia control panel without any improvement. This morning I clicked the recovery tab on the updater. After that it seemed to run smoother. I know the AA is back to what it had been before. The smoothness I'm seeing might be placebo but after several update patches maybe some files got messed up. It didn't take long to re-download, if anyone else is having issues it might be worth a try. Use SweetFx... Set the Driversettings to default! Search in google for it!! Cheers
Volkoff Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) I am very pleased with FPS performance. In cockpit I get constant 40 FPS or more even with my old GTX 560 TI. Bravo! I have a GTX 660 Ti and I have freezes and some stuttering, particularly when I fire my guns or when an AI plane is smoking or on fire. I suspect that the issues may not have to do with BOS per se, but may just be related to my setup somehow, since I am having similar issues with ROF, over the past month. MJ I'm getting the same stutters. I have the same card, so i guess it might have something to do with it. Can't remember having that issue in RoF though. Otherwise performance is fine, usually stuck at 60 FPS, sometimes a bit lower. However, with the small map, no clouds and few AI units around, i don't think it's representative for the final version. VA_Doc Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Um... so I have a questions. I purchased the standard edition. Why have I not received my email for a download of the game? It says in the dev diary that standard edition buyers will receive access starting on the 20th of december. It is now December 24th??? Am I missing something?
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 The in game is anisotropic filtering isn't it, not anti-aliasing? Two different graphical concepts. Anisotropic filtering does texture filtering and enhancement on polygons that are at an off angle to the camera. Without filtering a polygon with texture straight on at 90 degrees will be clear but it will become progressively blurry as the angle changes. Filtering is employed to ensure that the texture remains sharp no matter what angle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anisotropic_filtering Antialiasing refers to the edges of polygons and various methods are used to blur the edges of the shapes so that they appear to be smoothly blending with their backgrounds. Anti-aliasing is especially useful at low resolutions but its useful at nearly any resolution. People having difficulty with jagged edges would want to start with increasing the anti-aliasing... but sometimes 3D game engines are more complex than that and you may need to do something else too.
VA_Doc Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Well... I was able to activate my key on the front page. I thought I would have received a welcome to the alpha email or something or an announcement of sorts. Maybe I was wrong! Cheers!
