DD_bongodriver Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Updated. Works. Wheel toe brakes still inverted on G940 pedals use the profiler software to reverse the axis, it works for me. 2
dburne Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Still not recognizing combo key presses ( ie ctrl+F), when sent through Target software. But then not listed on the change log either, hopefully down the road it will get addressed... BUT, it is definitely remembering proper axis direction for throttle now I have set!
Brano Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I would gladly exchange ten flight recorders for working LaGG-3 elevator trim.Sorry for being negative, but thats smtg that prevents me from enjoying my access period. Not all of us are messer jockeys...Untill that is accomplished,I am most probably offline doing smtg else. 1
dburne Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Tried my very first dogfight - I was flying the Lagg, dang BF109 would not come down from altitude and play - scaredy cat!! 1
ST_ami7b5 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 use the profiler software to reverse the axis, it works for me. Thanks Bongo, it works now!
senseispcc Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 The record function is working nicely; image a telecharger gratuitement thanks for this great update. Waiting for the next one. I am still trying to land the Lagg-3 but I do not have the basic knowledge (speed, atitude, etc...) to do it correctly. fantastic game. A little flikker of ligth under control tail surfaces with sun in the back. Otherwise perfect. Senseispcc.
dburne Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Ahh, my second attempt at a dogfight - resulting in my first kill of a 109. What a great feeling 3

Sim Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Recording seems to work great. Although fast forwarding to the end of track takes a while.. Some other things I have noticed: - The blurry runways seems to be gone for me. Can anyone confirm this? - Skin changing is even faster now. On my SSD it only takes a couple of milliseconds for the skin to load after switching views. Keep up the good work and don't loose the pace and focus!
Zwoop Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Thank to devs! Flight Recorder is exellent function. Or is it actually a player, because I already record one short test track in first week and I can watch it now without problems!? Next we need working Free Camera (F11) mode!
Zwoop Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 - The blurry runways seems to be gone for me. Can anyone confirm this? Confirmed! At least it's not bad as last week.
Zwoop Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Quick comparison between weeks 3 and 4. Much better now!
SimFreak Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Today I finally tried alpha out and biggest thing that jumped out was that speed sound is not simulated. Everything else is nice so far.
Uufflakke Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Quick comparison between weeks 3 and 4. Much better now! It is an improvement indeed. No more washed out textures but sharper defined snow covered fields. Even the airfield seen from further distance looks sharper than the jagged one seen from close distance of week 3.
dburne Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I have got to fly this more now than I have so far, last weekend was my first chance and did not have a lot of time. Performance on my system is very good so far. I do get some major stuttering however, when the enemy spawns on the dogfight mission - and when I first start shooting my guns, after that it settles down. It is very brief, but happens at a really bad time. Gunsight on the 109 coming straight at me and guns starting to fire. Very much the same type of behavior I get in ROF as well. Other than that, shooting up a plane and it smoking like crazy, framerates stay at 30 fps which I have them locked at in the game. I am running all settings pretty much maxed out, except SSAO which I don't care that much about - running it on low. I have only been flying the Lagg so far - and it seems to have a lot of the same "feel" I get when flying the kites in ROF, undoubtedly because it was built on that engine and expanded from it to WWII planes. Even the sound in the sharp turns is very similar. How they handle in the turns feels very similar to me as well. I have gotten somewhat decent now dogfighting the 109. No doubt you lay a good hit you gonna get some damage to it. I will be glad, when they add elevator trim to the Lagg. Love that they got the axis reversing issue on each mission corrected - hopefully they get the combo key not working when assigned through stick software ( Target in my case ) working soon as well.
Rjel Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 1. Not 20:00 GMT yet. 2. Not 20:00 GMT yet. 3. Not 20:00 GMT yet. lol. I was surprised a couple of tracks I made by accident from the first LaGG flights played back. I never suspected they would work. Now I'm a little peeved with myself for not hitting the record button last weekend. BTW, good update.
beepee Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 When you log in you do need to be connected to the internet but you only send a small packet of data up to the server and a small packet is sent back to tell your game client you have access. After that you won't be sending/receiving much if any traffic so your data cap shouldn't be affected. Thanks for the info Extreme_One. I too live in a land of exorbitant data costs.
TyphoonOneB Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks so much for the confirmed date the 20th December! I will happily wait for my special Christmas present now :)
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I have got to fly this more now than I have so far, last weekend was my first chance and did not have a lot of time. Performance on my system is very good so far. it does feel like it is relatively well optimized. probably could use some tweaking a bit here and there. but runs quite smoothly
GOA_Kaliman Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 In Mexico 22:00 December 13th (14th December 4:00 GMT) what happen? I read only... #2 Your connection to master server was temporaly lost....
beepee Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I still have the throttle axis reverse issue with a Saitek X-52. I am also unable to re-map the axis now. The accept button does not seem to work for me. Other than that, it is looking great and I can not wait for future updates. Thanks to the Dev-team for allowing us to be a part of this Alpha test.
ImPeRaToR Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Per the teamspeak chat had on the rof ts during and after the livestream. Jason indicated that 3 more aircraft models are complete and awaiting FM's. And he speculated that the IL2 would indeed be next (though he advised us not to quote him on that). A great nugget of info he providd us as well was that we are testing tbings in early access that are sometimes only days old. So basically we are going to get things as they are completed. Much like the trim tab system that is so eagerly awaited for the lagg. He informed us that the system has not been created yet by Petrovich. But that it is going to be made, just in the order that they have set out for themselves. So as for the 190 and LA 5. I would assume, based on the previous info, that it will be Feb. or March. Maybe some one has a recording if the ts conversation? Since we already saw 3D models of them I am going to guess the other two planes (apart from the Il2) are the Yak1 and the Ju87. Can't wait to try them all
Trident_109 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Stand back fellars, the cavalry is here! AKA standard edition founders! Gee, I can hardly wait! Rubbing my hands gleefully and all that.... But I'd like to make a point regarding the recording. It's a darn good introduction but Im wondering if they could make it like WoT where one can sit back and enjoy the replays without having to log in online first. It's less stressful. I know I'm speaking more for myself cos of the heavy Internet costs where I live. If I have to log on to watch my replays everytime (something I love to do as an aid to improving my gameplay) I'm afraid my service providers will make a killing! Okay, maybe not so much, but you do get my drift, don't you? Devs, once again thanks for letting us standard guys in from the cold. It was such a long wait. Try replaying your tracks from the game during the access time and using a capture software to convert to AVI files. MSI Afterburner is free and works quite well. I understand you won't be able to change views on the fly, but it might be a good option. Once again Requiem comes to the rescue with a "video making and converting them to editable AVI files" tutorial based on the Rise of Flight track recorder, which for all intents and purposes is the same as the one in BoS. EDIT: Forgot the linky..... http://www.fscommunity.info/2013/06/how-to-make-a-movie/ Edited December 14, 2013 by Robert 1
RedEye_Jeroll Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 All work perfect. Well, litle bugs, but the fly is perfect. Just a suplical give more time to us... gift of the chrinstimans.
Picchio Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 "buyers of the Standard edition will join the Early access program starting December 20th" Sorry if it has already been asked and answered already, but does that mean that the access period will be extended to a longer time than 72 hours?
Dooga Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Whatever you guys did in this sprint, it brought the original performance back on my machine. So I'm a happy camper again! And after the first four dogfights, I like the Bf-109 more than the LaGG-3 ;-) At least for fighting - the LaGG is the more interesting plane, from a pilot's perspective (as long as that tail wheel lock is inop, anyways). Three small requests for playability: 1. make the game remember across sessions that I clicked away that stupid "to bring the HUD back press 'H'" message already! 2. make the game remember that I disabled SSAO - whenever I change something in the graphics settings, I have to quit the game and manually edit the startup.cfg again 3. make the game remember across sessions all of the joystick curve settings I put in (in this case for pitch) - it's forgetting one of the three curve properties, deadzone I believe but would have to check again Otherwise - great feel, keep it coming!
Rjel Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I patched my game yesterday. All went as usual, but I noticed it seemed a little sluggish while playing. Then it appeared the anti-aliasing wasn't working as it had. I messed around last night for several hours tweaking settings, both in game and the Nvidia control panel without any improvement. This morning I clicked the recovery tab on the updater. After that it seemed to run smoother. I know the AA is back to what it had been before. The smoothness I'm seeing might be placebo but after several update patches maybe some files got messed up. It didn't take long to re-download, if anyone else is having issues it might be worth a try.

Volkoff Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Wow! I like the LaGG-3 Series 29 more and more, every weekend. The LaGG-3 has so much character. She is so quirky. Now, The track recorder is very easy to use and does a great job of capturing events. Thanks to the team for the update. MJ Edited December 14, 2013 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
Rjel Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Where are you setting AA and to what? If you mean in game, it's under the graphics settings and I'm using 8x with most other settings maxxed out except grass to low and SSAO is off. I then use the Nvidia control panel settings to enhance BoS' graphic settings. I lean toward quality settings there as opposed to performance.

The in game is anisotropic filtering isn't it, not anti-aliasing?
Foobar Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 "buyers of the Standard edition will join the Early access program starting December 20th" Sorry if it has already been asked and answered already, but does that mean that the access period will be extended to a longer time than 72 hours? No. It means that the buyers of standard edition will join the early access program on friday the 20th. Please check developer diary #39. It states that about 2 months after begin of early access the period will be extended from 72 hours to 5 days. This could be right after orthodox christmas. Perhaps.
Rjel Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 The in game is anisotropic filtering isn't it, not anti-aliasing? I suppose so. The end result for me is no jaggies. That's all that matters to my eyes.
Original_Uwe Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Shots and one else have what appears to be a film over their screen? Almost like the pilot it's wearing dirty goggles? Freakin annoying.
DD_Arthur Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) Shots and one else have what appears to be a film over their screen? Almost like the pilot it's wearing dirty goggles? Freakin annoying. That's the ssao thing. Not sure what its meant to do but at the moment it gives the symptoms you describe. To get rid of it find the Start Up file in data and make the values for the two lines beginning with ssao zero and the effect is removed. Edited December 15, 2013 by arthursmedley
StG2_Manfred Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Quick comparison between weeks 3 and 4. Much better now! The blurry airfiled has become better, yes. But I still have occasions at my landing approach, where it is still too long blurred. Depends on the zoom of view, cause when I fully zoomed out, and that's my 'landing configuration', it still sharpens too late imo. If you use no zoom (standard view) it is good.
RedEye_Jeroll Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I would suggest longer access the game. I believe that the physical is defined. To practice squad would be interesting to always keep the server online. Do not think this can compromise any company policy, whether or not marheting only benefit the players and could also be used as merchandise of the game. The release date is for spring - still a long time.
