Cybermat47 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Great work on Farrier's Spitfire, but just a small note: the Spitfires in Dunkirk didn't have the red fabric over the gunports.
DetCord12B Posted August 16, 2017 Author Posted August 16, 2017 Gorgeous work, Detcord. Will we see Collins' aircraft as well? Should probably have included that in the initial DL. Which was his exactly (photos/serial)? Great work on Farrier's Spitfire, but just a small note: the Spitfires in Dunkirk didn't have the red fabric over the gunports. I found a lot of reference material where the gunports were covered. It may not have been present in the film, but were on some Spits during the battle.

Squad marking QV only, serial number N3200 http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/07/09/19/2A60654100000578-3155230-image-a-1_1436466366580.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/07/09/19/2A60649B00000578-3155230-image-a-2_1436466371354.jpg

Added Collins' Spit.

216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Cheers, they're looking beautiful!
DetCord12B Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) So, I have an unnatural obsession with the Russian naval camo patterns applied to their aircraft right now. Can't explain it, it just is what it is. The current schemes are rather amazing and remind me of something long ago. They're elegant and old-school and border on the beautiful, IMHO. It's kinda of a stark contrast as to what the US is using at present with the flats, and I wanted to recreate that in IL-2. Disclaimer - This is competently fictional. It never existed. I'm simply looking for people willing to test it and search for errors. If you're interested let me know. Must have the Yak-1B Collectors Aircraft. J37_Daedallus Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 (edited) Hi I'll help I used to have 3 spitfire skins in the original IL2 that had a similar cammo, I think it was a 2 tone duck egg blue and sea blue, and they had the naval emblem on a white tail, red stars and red numbering - I lost them in an HD crash salute Daedallus Edited August 26, 2017 by Daedallus
Chief_Mouser Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 I like the look of the captured 109s. If you have the time I/we would greatly appreciate them. Great work with your other skins; I wish I had the talent. Cheers.

DetCord12B Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 Fw-190 A5 added. This was one of those weird ones. It had spent time in the EF (UKN unit) prior to being transferred to JG 1 to combat the increasing Allied bombing effort in and around Northern Germany. It retained a lot of odd colors/RLM's and patterns, obviously being painted and repainted over and over. Still, thought it was interesting. 2

Yankee_One Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Top notch mate! Lovely skins. I like the "used" ones. I like it dirty
MrNoice Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 @detcord12b really nice skins ;D is it possible to get your skins without numbers ?
Thrudd Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Truely amazing skins Detcord! Just wanted to let you know I spotted a small error on the OP links. The link for the Yak-1b '4 GV.IAP Guards' skin is pointing to the PE-2 URL. It's linked to the '125 GV.IAP White 16 & 85' file. 2

DetCord12B Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 No I dont know how to edit or make skins It's just an odd thing to ask unless you intend on editing them. Something I have no problem with so long as you don't make anything public. Dozens of hours of work goes into these individual textures, which is why my alarm goes off when questions like that is posed. Is there a reason you want them completely devoid of markings?
MrNoice Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Ah ok I understand. No I would only use it for me ... its just that im not bound to that number. so if anybody is using the same number in multiplayer on a skin you know ?
Stlg13/Sgt_Schultz Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 That Y7 skin is a work of art man, Thanks Detcord! 1

No I would only use it for me ... its just that im not bound to that number. so if anybody is using the same number in multiplayer on a skin you know ? Just shoot me a PM and let me know which one or ones you want. If you want a specific number or markings let me know as well. I'll make that happen for ya. That Y7 skin is a work of art man, Thanks Detcord! No worries. It should be noted that the RLM's aren't exact. The info behind the actual bird was scarce, though it as with all things late war Germany corners were cut which includes mixing paints that were in short supply. Still, its an interesting looking pattern color wise. 2
TAAC_Blue Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Many thanks for a JG77 skin! Posted an link to it in the II./JG77 forum. 1
