I just started having an issue where Il-2 is refusing to use my graphics card, and instead using the integrated graphics. It seems that regardless of settings, it is really determined to not use my card. I haven't seen many issues with this, so I am curious on what is happening.

One note, I booted up DCS to make sure my GPU wasn't bricked, and it was working no problem at 60+ FPS. So everything should be working...

Any help would be super appreciated!

You are setting it in the wrong place. That is just for OpenGL apps which Il2 is not. Check in Windows' graphics settings.

You have to turn off your integrated graphics in the bios, not in NCP if I remember correctly.

Firdimigdi is correct, i was having the same issue on using the wrong GPU. Nvidia control panel doesn't fix the issue.

Go to  Settings/System/Display/Graphics Settings (about 2/3rds down the page). From there see under 'Graphics Performance preference', select Browse then locate and Add the .exe file for the game, select 'Options' and select your graphics card of choice. 'Let Windows Decide' doesnt necessarily make a wise choice....i'm sure there's a techie reason why, but i'm just a flyer and tanker ?

Hope this helps anyone who's struggling and waiting for a 'fix'

Hello. Decided to try Battle of Stalingrad today and I'm getting heavy stuttering on my Varjo VR-3.

Specs of my machine is 4090/5800x3d/64gb/2Tb ram/WD black M.2 on a fresh Windows 10 install.

I tried to run the game on the lowest setting and its still the same, it's still a stutterfest. I'm on the latest Varjo Base 3.7.2. and the latest nVidia 526.86.

DCS and Msfs 2020 run great on my system and is at par on what other similar configs run at. I even tried OpenXR and IL2 still stutters. Any ideas on how to solve this?

TIA

Thank you so much! Haven't been able to play this game ever since I reinstalled it, and this was the reason why. Kept running into threads saying check control panel, check BIOS settings, but not this. Thank you!!!

I made a thread, but saw this thread.  ,but Il2 crashes upon load after hitting the play button on launcher aproxx. 3/4's of the way through.  THis is mobile RTX quadro 3000 6 GB gddr6 and another 16gb of shared ddr4 memory with Intel i9 10885h and also Intel UHD graphics.  The laptop has two thunderbolt ports, but i think it is crappy that you have to pay 300 dollars for egpu device and you don't evan get to add them together for 8 pcie lanes, but if worse comes to worse I can remove the bottom and run a gpu off a M.2 slot.Screenshot2024-01-03191409.png.ec0d756d52107efe94122bc1afd80143.png

It works now.  great evan better than WT.  One thing I did was a few days ago set prioritize nvidia processor in nvidia control panel.  Today when I clicked on it.  It loaded right up; first time...  Before it was on auto and I had switched that becasue on another game I was playing it switched off the quadro and only utilized intel UHD and changing that setting prioritized the quadro and allowed me to sli them together.

Has anybody tried the new Nvidia app that has replaced the GEforce experience and control panel?

Any issues if you have?

I( had only issues before uninstalling the old exp control panel.

In that panel the last times I used it I had to login every single time (even if I was logged in before and allways had 'remember me' activated)

After switching to the app I stay logged in and have no issues at all.

S! All,

After installing the latest driver (December 6) from the Nvidia App for my Nvidia 1080 Ti graphic card.
It seems that I can't see anymore some media images in PNG in my mission.
All was working fine before this update. I did a test with someone who didn't yet have a graphic card (update) and he was able to see the PNG image in the mission?!!
It doesn't seem to be a problem with media sounds, but mostly with in-game PNG images and sometimes the in-game map visuals (frontline, arrows, ...).

Anyone with this problem...
Also, I did try to roll back to a November version of my Nvidia driver, but I still have this problem.
I'm wondering if this new Nvidia app is the problem, or if IL-2 is having an issue with this new update.

Any help would be welcome.
Cheers, GenMarkof007

Have you tried to check integrity of game's files? If you can see things on your screen, it is very unlikely that the problem is on your driver (can you open the png's outside the game?). Another hint that the problem is on game's files is the fact that the rollback didn't help.
Other than that, maybe a driver reinstall using DDU first?

Have you tried to check the integrity of the game's files? Yes, this was the first thing I did.

If you can see things on your screen, it is very unlikely that the problem is on your driver (can you open the png's outside the game?). Yes, I was able to open the PNG file and view it inside an image app. Also, when I did my last mission test, the other player with me on the test server, was able to see that PNG image.

Another hint that the problem is on the game's files is the fact that the rollback didn't help. Yes, but at the same time, it seems that even with a rollback done, the Nvidia app is still with the driver rollback. Is the Nvidia app as to be always with the login?

Other than that, maybe a driver reinstall using DDU first? That was my next step, but before doing this, I needed to be sure about the graphic card driver I needed to install. And what si DDU exactly... not the biggest tech guys on my side.

Any help or knowledge about this kind of problem is welcome.

Cheers, GenMarkof  ;)

Hi Gen, let me try to help you.
DDU is short name for Display Driver Uninstaller, and you can get the official version on guru3d.com or on www.wagnardsoft.com

The way you use it is as follows:

a) be sure to have the driver you want to install saved to a folder in your computer
b) download DDU and unzip it to a folder

c) reboot the computer in safe mode (video of how it is done: https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=how+to+boot+windows+in+safe+mode&mid=F44AC8EFD14A88E09E9DF44AC8EFD14A88E09E9D&FORM=VIRE)

d) while in safe mode, run DDU (detailed instructions here ->  https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/How-use-Display-Driver-Uninstaller-DDU-Guide-Tutorial )

e) it will automagically reboot your computer after removing any trace of nvidia's drivers. If you use nVidia Inspector to personalize some game profiles, please save your customized profiles before using DDU, otherwise they will be lost.

f) for the last part, I like to do it while disconnected from the Internet, so Windows doesn't try to install his nVidia version before me. So, while you're in safe mode, disconnect your computer from Internet, so when DDU reboots your machine, you go back to windows without Internet. After logging in, run your nVidia installer, and reconnect Internet after finishing the installation.
g) Enjoy your ultra clean new driver installation. :)

Oh, about the graphic driver version, I'm using the 565.90 for my GTX 1080 (non-TI) and it is absolutely perfect performance wise. If you want to strip the bloatware from the driver, use nVCleanstall to generate a lighter version. You point the original file from nVidia, and then it proceeds to open it and ask you what parts you want to install. If you want it super-ultra light for perfomance, install the driver only, and put it in MSI mode.

After some tests today... I saw that an old PNG file did show on my screen, inside the same mission.
It seems that this PNG was made a few weeks ago... so that got me thinking that maybe the problem came from the source of my PNG file (Photoshop).
With this new version of Photoshop on my Mac, each time I start the application, I get a message saying that my system is not made for this new version of Photoshop.

I will try a few things to see if this will change my PNG.

Cheers, GenMarkof  ;)

thanks jokerBR... if my new testing doesn't work, I will try to uninstall my Display Driver. +

As being confirmed on the beta forum, the RTX5080 is working with IL2, same as my 5070ti, so its looks like something is wrong at your side.

What is happen when you use to play IL-2 on monitor only?  If it is OK than it could by a Pimax thing.

If still the same, so it has maybe nothing to do with Pimex.
My suggestion, download DDU as published a couple of posting here above.

First in DDU remove the AMD graph drivers, then the Intel drivers and do this steps, all to be sure. The last, the Nvidia drivers removal, now restarting.

Go to Nvidia and download the automatic driver intall for gamers https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

Test Box again.

BTW, Is it only in Il2-BoX and not in other VR games?
