Yes, you can use the alpha template to create a new alpha channel and paste it into the main template.  Simply lower the brightness of the base layer in the alpha.psd by 5 - 10%.

I am new to this skinning lark, and want to create personally numbered (lettered?) H-16s for my squadron, but I am having real difficulty, after applying the various numbers, letters, and emblems, my skin comes out too matt, and the rivets look as if they have all been individually polished. what adjustments do i need to make? I am using this skin to modify: He111_H16_Public_4k.psd

In August 1945 the Japanese surrendered to the allies... the planes in your pics are just fictional, seeing as they are dated December 1945...
