Wow, so many enormous improvements I wasn't expecting at all in this update - first of all, thank you very much for investigating and correcting damage and durability. The new tree shadows look great, and TacView was something I never expected to get but greatly appreciate! A staggering rate of improvement, you are quickly dispelling any doubts that the simulation genre is in good hands. S!

I did run into a problem in my limited test. I tried bomblets in the new IL-2 and FAB-50s in the Yak-1b and neither load exploded on ground contact. I dropped both loads from about 100m altitude. I haven't tested bombs on any other planes yet. Maybe I missed something. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

 

UPDATE: I just tried another bomb test from Yak-1b at 300m and it worked OK. Not sure why it didn't work before. Technical hiccup on my PC perhaps.

Are you in any case on an AMD Radeon? If so, have you installed the latest driver?

 

Yeah, AMD Radeon I was forced to use my old PC because Corsair leaked my new PC! All latest driver are installed. Still the same issue with this damn patch!!! Had the hope to spend the time on my old PC waiting for Corsair reimbursement.

But noooo, they release an patch that introduce just problems! Yeah Yeah new graphics features. I can't play the game how I played before that patch and that's their fault.

Like I said in the PM take your issue to nvidia about the 780s issues and dx11.

Please take this to the bugs section and put up a post with your specs, settings etc and describe you problem/make a video. Not everything can be anticipated.

btw. @Jason. Since the Hotfix the Frames seem to be locked at 60 FPS for me. Can your guys look into that?

 

Edit: This seems to only hapen on Ultra settings.

Are you using a mirror on an older system? I have a GTX680 GPU, i7-3770K CPU, and 16GB RAM. Using conservative graphics settings, I found the mirror cut my framerate down significantly, but intermittently (with mirror: 80-120 fps, without mirror: 30-80 fps). I just run without the mirror and my framerate is great.

The last update 2.009 did this to me. 15-25  fps drop. In the end all I had to do was reinstall the NVidia driver. 5 mins work  - worth a punt.

Loving this update. clouds, ground look so much better now. Playing SP in VR on a 1070. Just blasted the bejeesus out of two 109s with my Il2 as they overshot and tried to scissor and high-yoyo me. ildva sais nyet, bishes! And then flak cut my elevator control cable and I got to nurse the old girl home on trim and ailerons. that was one hairy landing but im sure Boris and the boys will get that prop unbent in time for tomorrows flight.

Listen guys - if you think you are experience stuttering DO NOT test on the Moscow map. There is a known issue with stuttering near Moscow airfields due to how we did the textures. We will correct that in time. For all of your testing do it on Stalingrad or even better the Lapino map to rule out airfield induced stutters.

 

Any time we add some kind of new filter, or mirrors or anything else that takes resources you may experience a slow down especially on older hardware.

 

Start with low settings and start upping the settings and monitor what happens at each step. 

 

If you guys want us to implement cooler graphics, but you must understand that some of them may impact performance.

Tacview doesn't currently show bullets or bombs due to an incompatibility. I don't know if or when that info can be included.

I have many slowdowns and freeze both offline and online.

I never had any problems until now, even with the old video card (now I have 1060)
If it remains so for me it is unplayable! But yestarday was playable!

I hope there will soon be a fix
