Im no specialist but i know that even with vive/oculus right now its allways a fight, to match 45/90 fps.

i have a 6700 and 1070 and it feels a little bit underpowered in some cases...

i wouldnd spend money on this until you have tryed it out or wait for some more serious reviews out there.

and dont underestimate the nausea issue. theres a reason for the 90fps... and precise low latency tracking...

But 4k sounds great anyway ;)

Holy Cow,

Thought I would get a quick dogfight mission in this morning before breakfast.

Took a round through the canopy and got wounded, had blood spatter literally on my Oculus Lenses!

At least it sure looked that way.

Whoa!

VR Oculus DK2 and HTC VIVE Perfect , Excellent experience ! More close to the reality ! Total inmersion . Many things new in combat

With VR you can point with the bullets were you fire this is a before and a afther point in the combat flight Sim never seen berore ! Only right now with Il2 BoS BOK .

With this Sim VR let you to do too many things in combat you could not do before you see the plane now every where , is more realistic by far away ! ..... (And also Zoom !)

Many thanks Il2 Sturmovick, 777 Studios 1C company very Good Job ! Congratulations for the best flight Sim now a day !

Hey guys, any idea how to set the world space ? The plane im sitting in is tiny :D !

I've shelved this game when I got my HTC Vive and now it will return to its rightful place!

I did the same when I got my Rift. Just couldn't go back to 2D again. Now, I'm all in!

+1 for RoF VR support - if you put up a kickstarter, I'd be happy to contribute $100.

+1 and I'll buy all the planes all over again!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, RoF would be the ideal VR sim! The limited resolution of todays VR gear is no problem in a WWI sim that has very rudimentary gauges, but the increase in situational awareness and immersion, that VR brings to the table, will be amazing!

And, now the team have proven they can do it, and do it well...

Rise of Flight 2. Use the improved engine of the IL-2 BoX series, port the planes and terrain from RoF, and you have a winner!

I know, it's not as simple as that, but still... You have to! ;-)

Sorry for going off topic, but RoF is very dear to me...

My mouse cursor disappeared after a mission. Weird.

I suspect the biggest obstacle would be in having to update the engine to DX11.

This combined with the lower community interest in that genre ( as compared to WWII) would probably make it a hard sell. And then factor in the much smaller percentage of VR users currently compared to non VR.

I too have ROF and have not played it in a long time, but certainly would if it had VR support.

In fact that would be the only reason I would ever re-install the game.

You would have to have a pretty powerful fan blowing in your face.

What about China's best Pimax 4K VR ???  IL2 compatible ???

The pimax doesn't really do 4k but it does an excellent job of 2k in each eye. It only did 60hrz but every review with the current firmware days it does an excellent job and is a vastly superior display. It does not have 6dof, only looking up/down left/right but when Nolo VR comes out you can add 6dof for $150. It's steam be compatible so it will work with il2 at 1440p.

Please, keep the player icon on briefing map, but, cut off blue and red brackets pointing objectives and landing marks over landscape of the simulator in expert mode, like in 2008 version !!!

Loving the VR. My wingman and I were flying on a couple of servers last night and really enjoyed the experience. Had a couple of really fun dogfights with another community member as well. The head smack is a bit much, and 45 fast seems to be the lowest framerate I experienced (lots of ram, 1070 on a 2600K). Might even try dropping from ultra to balanced to really pick up the framerate for fun. Fun fun fun. S! :)

Higher resolution VR kit + 6DOF sounds very interesting but pricewise (for me) it is better to wait.

I mean, € 689.95 + $ 150.- is quite an investment.

And Primax will start fundraising for a 8k VR set. Can you imagine. 8k.

By the way, are you Urufu Shinjiro the former moderator of Ubizoo?

That is a trip down memory lane... :)

Presumably a Pimax 8K will actually be 4K, if the current 4K is actually only 2K.

While you guys discuss the Pimax VR, anyone knows anything new about Star VR ? Thats the VR headset i trust will bring best immersion into flying simulators (although i didnt rly heard any news about it for some time, i hope its not dead) http://www.starvr.com/#techspecs

I thought it would actually be easier to import the RoF aircraft, a couple at a time, into BoX rather than update the whole RoF engine to DX11. More financially realistic to boot, maybe with a heavily discounted price for RoF users who already have the particular aircraft and full aircraft price for new players. It might even encourage a few RoF diehards to jump over and buy BoS as well, just to fly WW1 in VR It may not be a perfect solution but it's better than the never never.

I thought star vr was only being sold to commercial customers? Period. Big company stuff only.

Nobody knows what do they mean by "new 109 F4 performances" ??

Apparently we accidentally made it slower. It's back to where it was pre-update after the Hotfix. Nothing to stress over.

BoS does not works (yet?) with HDK2, unlike DCS world or Warthunder. So before purchasing anything other than Vive or Rift you should wait for a status for other VR Headset...

Pimax works very well...I will post a detailed review in a few days. I can see contacts at 8k+ but cannot I'd till much closer.

At least we were able to reproduce "collapsed HUD" problem.

Tomorrow we will build a new hotfix 2.009c for this issue.

I had some serious issues with pimax. Specifically with fov and stuttering. And of course no 6dof. And the drift was horrendous.

How far are people able to spot contacts with OR/Vive?

Ive only played a few quick missions and spotting is hard even during close combat. I can't tell if its friendly, foe, or albatross crap on my windshield. Its just a limitation of VR tech i guess. The implementation by the devs is amazing.

I actually find spotting waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier! I mean, a universe of difference!

It could be that before I was using a 4K monitor? I.e., the smaller pixels made seeing targets more difficult?

Or it could have something to do with various "micro" differences in graphic settings? I have no subsampling, max AA, sharpen on, and gamma at 0.8.

Yup, that's me, lol. If you watch for sales the pimax 4k can be had for $300, so with the nolo $450 is less than Vive or Rift with better screen. We'll have to see what the 8k ends up like price wise etc.

The pimax 8k is supposed to be 250+ deg fov.

In messing around with settings more this weekend to see what real limitations are. However, having the map screen pop up and not cover your entire view is outstanding. Best feature of all. Feels natural.

I haven't tried any other headset so I cannot compare FOV but it is listed as the same as the rift I believe. There is no 6dof but there is a pseudo effect if you lean and you can easily see over the nose. I am working on getting vjoy to work with my track ir. Will update as I progress. I also have found the drift is an issue but bearable for me.(my trackir clipped quite often so i was recentering alot) I do believe this will be remedied with nolo due out in June? They are working with Nolo vr directly(Also the devs are actively working on this and many other issues) Not ideal but the screen looks really good to me. Light ghosting but steady 60fps with no ill feelings. Edited by II./ZG1_GrendelsDad

Hi guys. Just something very small  , any advice?

For some reason my target FPS in graphic settings (fps limiter) seems not to be working. In settings I cannot change it (currently at 30, but like it is blocked out) and also from my fps counter I can see that fps actually runs from 30-55 depending on action/scenery etc. I like it to be stable at 30.

Much appreciated.
