Yeh game will work perfectly with older drivers, but we should not have to rollback, as latest drivers are needed for new games, so this is a nvidia problem then ?

I also have this problem.

I am running a GTX780 as well.

Have owned the game since the very beginning but didn't play the game for about the last 6 months.

Never had a problem before but now I have this issue as well since updating the game and my NVidia drivers.

Ill try the 350.12 drivers and see what happens.

For me the issue can come after 3 minutes or after 40 minutes and anywhere in between.

Quite frankly - this is crap, and given this is a small community and so many are affected, I'd  like to see a little more input from the mods/developers or certainly, I shall not be wasting anymore of my time with this.

Can anyone confirm that this ONLY affects 700 series NVidia cards??

Yeh, shame we cant play this great game anymore, cant roll back gpu drivers, as i need latest drivers to play recent games.

I do have the exact same problems with an NVidia GTX 970 -

D3D Error: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

this message comes after about 3 minutes of flight. The sim has become unplayable and I just bought BoK. Every other game even "The Witcher 3" run fine on my pc.

I got good support though from the IL2 support team, but still, the sim doesent work. Half a year ago I didnt have these problems with IL2, hope they get out a patch until the final release of BoK that solves these problems.

yes I have the same issue, if I change drivers, the other games wont work anymore. And you are right, its a shame cause IL2 is (when it works) a great sim.

2 months without a resolution to this issue is unacceptable. Period.

Just returned/re-installed after some absence, also 700er series.. Before (like 1-2 month ago9 I was able to run the game and beeing able to play online quite ok, but after re-installing game and old driver it does not work for me and I do get the same error as mentioned

After about 20mins of online gametime (see my last TAW sortie, dam) the screen freezes, 2nd cursor appears and the sound continues running until it all breaks together and the error message comes. With mirrors enabled, I do get significantly less time and it also seems to have some relation with alt-tabbing and re-sizing the screen for me (these things seems to produce the crash more rapidly/with less game time used until breakdown)

I guess I´m out of the game then, until this gets somehow fixed. Currently no BoK-purchase for me and I´ll be over at DCS for a while. Except for  maybe some singleplayer crashlandings, still awesome even with minutes of playtime ;=)

I don't know, if this helps anyone, but I had the same error message for a few times. Since I updated Windows 10 with the Creator update, I don't have any issues with that.

I just reinstalled Rise of Flight and fly that now. No problems with this sim at all. I`m not going to mess around with directx and drivers anymore, that affected only my other games negatively and didnt fix the crash-error in IL2.

The only thing that`s left to do in my opinion, is wait until, hopefully the developers bring out a patch, that fixes these crashes. As said before, IL2 was running well until recently, Now it has become unplayabIe.

All other games run well, so the error is to be found in IL2. I got a quick response when I contacted the support team, they tried to help, thanks for that but nevertheless, I think the error should be fixed with a patch, not by changing around directx or graphic drivers, sorry. Hopefully they get it fixed until the final release of BoK. Would be a shame if IL2 would not run anymore because of such a crap.

I tried these drivers and didn't have any luck...

1) they looked terrible and killed my FPS - even on lower settings.

2) they were unstable and basically incompatible with my system.

going to try the latest 384.76 NVidia drivers but don't expect much success.

On the latest 384.76 drivers I am able to play consistently with 35+ minute flights without a problem...

Both online and offline.  If that changes I'll amend this post.

In the meantime, it seems like the problem has been solved with this latest drivers and/or patch.

How is everyone else experiencing this D3D Error going?

Do you mean that version 2.011 actually has fixed the problem of GeForce GTX 780 crashing the game (D3D error) with latest videocard drivers installed? I don't think the devs have ever mentioned it.

Now after I updated to 2.011 the game has become unplayable at all, because of very low framerate...

I tried the new spitfire last week with latest nvidia drivers, after 2011 update. Game crashed after 10 minutes. (I have a 780 too)

Yesterday, I found that when I opened the game launcher an small update was downloaded, but I did not try to fly at that moment. It would be great if that small patch solved this issue and, after months, we are able to fly, but we will have to check if Stacko was only lucky or it is the long awaited solution.

If anyone tries the new version and it works, please tell us.

Latest driver + patch crashed after just 3 minutes of flight. So it's nowhere near solved. 35 minutes would not be "solved" either, if that's what you meant, Stacko.

Yeh latest drivers still crashes this game, how come no response from the devs on this issue lately ? mind you, on a side note, i have read on the web before, that nvidia deliberately borks latest drivers to make them perform badly on older gpu's, to make you update to newer gpu cards, not sure thats true thou.

I heard a lot of rumors that Nvidia hinders performance of previous generation gpu's and I wanted to ask if anyone here really noticed something shady going on with the performance of their gpu's when a new generation rolled out?

Even drivers of newer cards seems affected by lower quality, I don't think it's some shady things (some problems at max). Moreover my game was running without problem up untill latest patch, after that the FPS dropped badly....

Ah i see, trouble with windows 10 is, Microsoft always updates my gpu drivers automatically to latest versions, even when i dont want to, is there any way to stop this ?
